Yellow | The Union

The positive, if you are a **** off, miss alot of time, are a lazy worker, and do alot of stupid things, then the union will stick by you, and you will have a job for life.

QUOTE]

give you an example: about 5-6 years ago at 135, a driver was up to six pending discharges.(yep, fired six times, pending appeal for not taking work calls). we still had to call him twice, and get union verification. then one night he was on his way to work. i'll say that part again, too, HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO WORK. he stops to pick up two folks visiting town with a carnival and takes them to the city in search of crack cocaine. there was a botched drug deal and a lady was shot in the head and killed in his backseat. our driver and the other fellow drove around smoking the rock before calling the police. all of this he admitted to the cops. he still maintained his employment, was never fired. he (get this) resigned. heard he later got a job hauling dynamite.

Stroud,:clap:You make a few interesting points that even I agree with,But it is not the union that has let us down,it is the union leadership that has steered the ship in the wrong direction. When it is time for the next elections send them a message vote them out, starting at the top: Junior on down.Unfortunately, just your vote isn't good enough as the membership in freight is dwindling..I think we have more school bus drivers than we have freight members..We have to go out an educate ALL of the teamsters in all of the trades..So what I am saying is if you want change :shift:Then get involved,if you don't want to get involved then don't Bit*h...

Crazy, I agree with you. The problem is I will not have my union job when it is time to vote. Their are alot of other members in the same position. I have said it before, we have no leadership, hell I still do not have a contract book. I will leave it to you and who is ever still working at YRC, and if they (YRC) is still in business.:puke::eck15:

bull

Most important Job Security w/out that non of the above is possible.:shift:

where was the job security when roadway and yellow merged
the union don't care about the members only filling there pockets with your money

10% give back ,lost freight, layoffs, lies, from YRC,and wheres the great almighty TEAMSTERS hiding with there head up there asses.

Mr Crazy,
You didn't make any real points because the you can't get involved with something so mess up because this piece of crap union has lied and stolen so much from all its members no one will even listen to anything new because they know sooner or later a lie has come out of your mouth. You know as well as I do this union wants there dues every month so all the union officials can drive "business cars" and go to ***** houses. Hoffa and co. should be put in jail. They all are scum. This union need someone like Hoffa Sr. and baseball bats go to Overland Park and knock on Zollars office door, and tell him enough is enough or Everyone in this entire system should strike. Lets see if we can vote for that. THis union would not do that cause they are *******, Then Y.R.C. won't pay them their hush money.

That about sums it up

I agree with stroud 100%. The union takes your money and doesn't give a crap about you or your job.

Well you can always change that by not paying your dues or getting employment elsewhere, presumably in a place that is not organized or affillated with a labor Union.

And now the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain

we lived a life that's full
we traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
Bill Zollar did it his way
and now we all will be without a job
cause Bill did it his way
F^*K YOU BILL YOU JERKOFF

I can agree with that statement.

dues

i've read all these anti union comments and can not help but wonder if the IBT is in bed with yrc and zollars and only care about getting the dues money. How can they (IBT) collect dues money from people that don't have a job? Reading all this anti union crap you'd think the IBT was shutting down yrc. How does it benefit the union if yrc is gone? lose 35 to 40 thousand dues paying members.

This may sound anti union, but my experiece with them is they will lie to you like the company. Keep you in the dark as long as they can. Not take your phone call when you call the local. Let stupid letters stick, and push "the best contract" down your throat until you puke.

They will give 10% of your pay back to the company, "like our vote was going to count anyway." They will basically let the company do what ever it wants, just like a non union company.

The best they will let the company stop paying your pension, and you do not even get a vote. Not much for 53.00 or so a month.

Another thing is you can go down to your local, and BUY, a nice SHINY Jacket, with your name on it and a set of doubles on the back.

The positive, if you are a **** off, miss alot of time, are a lazy worker, and do alot of stupid things, then the union will stick by you, and you will have a job for life.

If you are not one of those guys, watch your back, get ready to be lied to. Get ready to work with a bunch of cry babies, that are worst than women with PMS.Yeah the whole seniority thing good luck with that.

Seniority only means something when you have 30 yrs and you think everyone owes you something. Go ask the senior men on layoff, how good seniority is, when junior men are working and they are on layoff. Its GREAT.

Teenage girls stick together better, than a buch or BIG BAD TEAMSTERS.

If this sounds like something good for you go for it.

I will get some flack for this post. But it really is very close to the TRUTH.

The union will sell you out as quick as the company. "In my experience".

Their will be guys who tell you how great it is, one thing they are probably still working and have enough seniority, for all that has happened to not be affected, by an COO.

I wonder how great it would be for them, if they moved their who family, sold their house and went down to their new terminal , just to be laid off. GOOOOO UNION:puke::eck15:

That pretty much sounds like my experience at Yellow.

look at the writng on the wall people the unions are killing these companies you may think you have it good, but wha is going to happen when the company goes under ??? my gut feeling is that unions are on the way out, Big Companies don't want to deal with them

Your union should stand up for it's members too! Did you for get that?? If you go to a hearing, your BA should fight for you even if your are dead to wrong, the company will stop at nothing to try to bury you, this is only fair. From top to bottom, our union has sold out on us, they are worth no more to us than a broke d*ck dog. They embezzle billions from the pension funds, chummy up with the companies and act like they are doing us a favor when we ask for something....... They are a joke. Our forefathers would be ashamed to even associate with these cowards we call a union. In reality, we may as well not have one for all the good these panzies do.

The funny thing is when they were embezzling money the pension made money. They haven't done this for years though. The government is in control.

embezzling years ago????

Really????? Would you mind explaining to me why I got a letter from central states telling me our pension is in critical status? Thank god for the Pension Protection Act of 2006, otherwise, we would not even know. Either the Teamsters are crooks or damn good magicions. We give them dues toward our pensions and they make it disappear. Oh and failing companies like YRC don't even contribute like they are supposed to........ I hope they do like Penn Traffic did and pay me out a lump sum in lieu of drawing down the road. And you're hearing it hear first Social Security will do the same thing. Remember where you heard it.

The reason the pension dropped is they are invested heavily in Stocks. It is a joke, but they were allowed to do it under the government rules for underfunded pensions.

Maybe we should start a de-certification drive. Just watch all these scumbag union BAs and officials come out of the woodwork and play dumb(guess they don't really have to play) that they didn't know there was a problem, "nobody said anything to us". POS union!!!

When brilliant seers like yourself remind me to remember where I heard their prophetic pronouncements, I feel so much better. On the other hand, I don't have time to catalog every prediction in my limited memory. So, in spite of your self righteous importance, please forgive me if I have already forgotten where I heard whatever it is that you said.
