FedEx Freight | More layoffs !!!!!!!

I think those in the upper Midwest, near Michican and Ohio, that are tied to the auto industry and their suppliers will have some tough sledding while these factories stay shut down this summer.
Hang in there.

:shift:

Hey bug! Maybe someday you will be the dead weight. I'm laid off and it's not a fun position to be in. And with your attitude I would guess you are probably one of your terminals clock suckers.

all ready laidoff oh thats right reclassed to the city oh i mean dock . you find out real quick who your freinds are when this happens every driver on road board to good to talk to you . even the guys you ran with on bids for awhile all i can say i hope you never have to go through what i and others or going through right now.

i never asked anyone to feel sorry for me iamthewerewolf because you and anybody at fxf i dont care what happens to any of you. also it is just a play on words with my name but you or just could not figure that out . now go shave your back

There is no question there are more layoffs coming. Buisness has not gotten any better. So why wouldnt Fedex have another round? If Fedex does not lower their rates like they sould have done in the first place they will be hurting even more. But as I have heard a million times they are providing a premium service----yeah okay! Fred needs to get his head out of his butt and make some decisions on his own and not listen to all the overpaid management and VPs. Fedexes reputation is slowly becoming tarnished.

my center (cin) has been busy as hell lately i think we have been working every single guy and i even got a few hours overtime this week

I am glad to hear that but Fedex as a whole is still doing bad. I would hope they could find a way to cut more costs besides laying off more workers.

Just for the record guys and girls. My husband posted the dead weight thing on my screen name. I volunteered for a 60 day layoff from dec.22 to june 22. I thought it would help someone that needed the money worse than I did at the time. I didn't get to finish my time because I got caught up in the last round off layoffs so I had to go to the dock or be laid off for 6 months or later or take the buyout. I picked the dock because I happen to think that this is a good job. I'm not happy working the dock but i'm working. I believe that my husband was tring to say that if we have 15 or more still sitting at home everyday that they need to do something. He doesn't wish ill thoughts for anyone he just thinks that people trying to live on working 1 day a week isn't getting the bills paid.

You know what? I work one or two days a week and would jump at a buyout in a heartbeat. I only have three years in so no big deal. Better than being a GD fall guy for this company just so they can keep me waiting in the wings when their a bit over loaded. And they very well should axe the extra. Why not. Their just giving them false hope. I certainly don't seem any real economic recovery anytime soon even with the great white hope in office (turd)

In the NW, our runs are cut nightly and the frt is hauled on P-trans, instead of our drivers.
Is there laysoffs overall or will there be starvation on the extra board with 20+ guys waiting for a short run in the furture?
The New Deal has arrived and it's not good

I know it wouldnt be a big way to save money but have all the VPs that have cars turn them in. There is no reason they should have a company car with the money they get paid. There can be a few cars at the terminals for them if they need to travel. That goes for sales 2. Drives me nuts to see a sales man on the weekend driving a company car for personal use. They can drive to work live the rest of us in are own cars. Once there they can get a company car and go to work.

Our sales guys ARE loosing their company provided cars. They will get some type of car allowance because they will have to provide a late model of a certain size under so-many-miles car of their own. Don't know about SCM's and other vp's though.

I guess I should have said change of operations that would cause line drivers
to lose there jobs, me being one of them, I see centers all over the U.S. getting rid of very good drivers, many who like working for Fedex, and keeping some very disgruntled senior drivers, who would like to see Fedex fail
So those of you who chastized me, owe me an apology
By the way, I start for Conway in a couple of weeks and will bust my rear just like I did for Fedex
