Yellow | Voting No??? On average UPS Freight workers pay $150 a month for health insurance

how much more per hour do they already make than us . id bet it was way over $150 a month

Right now UPS freight is over 24 bucks a hour with a pension. I'd gladly pay 150.00 a month for health insurance to keep my pension and give me that hourly rate

This has to be a YRC management post. Notice how he left out how much they make an hour or what their pension is.

As for their pension they have a total different pension plan then freight teamsters. That means you start from scratch and have to be vested. You can’t carry over your freight time into their pension fund even if you’re in the same local. And no I’m not in management I’m a driver just like you

In another post Riff uped the cost to $175 in just a few minutes time.

UPS Freight "city drivers" earned about $21 per hour prior to the agreement. Under the contract, the city drivers will receive wage increases of about 35 cents per hour in 2008, 70 cents per hour in 2009, 75 cents per hour in 2010, 80 cents per hour in 2011, 85 cents per hour in 2012, and 90 cents per hour in 2013.

Stable Health Care Premium Contributions
Workers will receive health care coverage under the new United Parcel Service Health & Welfare Package Select, the company's self-insured plan with benefits similar, or better than, benefits provided under the previous health care plan, according to the union.

For the life of the contract, workers will contribute a fixed amount monthly to the cost of the health care premiums at $50 for single coverage, $100 for couples coverage, and $150 for family coverage. Retirees who will receive health benefits under the plan will pay $250 per month for individual coverage and $500 per month for couples coverage.
Similarly, UPS Freight employees represented by IBT will be covered by a company-managed pension plan, known as UPS Pension Plan. The benefits are similar to those that were offered under the previous plan, and no contributions from the employees for the plan are required.

Ok Riff care to explain the discrepancies. We welcome info as long as its "factual"

Thank you for the info. Your original post implied we should not vote no due to the cost incured elsewhere. If anything looks like you have an improvement over what I get if I vote yes. :smilie_132:

I have work for Viking-Fedex Freight for the past 32 years. I also have 10 years in with the teamsters. I hope you guys are able to pull the rabbit out of the hat and stay in business. As far as our insurance cost, and this is ppo policy for just my wife and myself, I pay 128 dollars a month for medical, vision, and dental. using cigna as our provider. Best of luck. The union companies is the ones who have kept our wages as high as they are now. TP

Don’t mention it.. I’m like you, YRC just supplements my income

I have never seen Reg342 lie either, even tho I disagree often with him. Is it posible USPF has more than 1 contract for different regions?

Vote no then.. I’m not here to argue with you. I’m just presenting facts

Look pal. I'm already on record as stating I will be voting YES, so nothing that comes out of your unreliable mouth is going to sway me one way or the other. And you are not presenting facts here. Top scale at UPS Freight (Where I currently work while laid off from YRC)

is $26.15 at the end of the contract. That is a fact. Deal with it. If you want a link to their contract where I got the info from then pm me otherwise sitback and let the adults do the talking.

Dock Leadman/Dock Worker/Jockey/Local Driver
