Dump Trucks' Trailer left hanging.Houston Texas

I find it a little odd he didn't feel the weight transfer as his box was on the rise.
Also driving the big rigs requires a check in the west coast door mirrors from time to time.
Which had he taken a look-see he would have noticed the nose of his box,was not right behind the cab where it should have been riding.
Just my observation checking out the details of this crash.

Well at least he wasn't in the left lane.... could of been in a heap of trouble.:36:

On another note... in my area there was a similar accident. On I 90 at the Pennsylvania and New York state line... Shortman road to be exact. A dump trucks box went up and struck the bridge eastbound.:poster_oops: He hit so hard that it destroyed the bridge, it needs to be replaced. You would think the truck would of been handling funny.... like a little top heavy wanting to tip over.

Well TXDOT is going to charge owner of truck $100,000 for repairs. I have drove dump trucks before. The old ones have two levers and the new ones have two air switch's.The PTO switch has a lock out button and warning buzzer are light. One lever are switch is for up,hold and down. One commenter said if the PTO button was engaged that the hydraulics would bypass valve at high speed.I call BS on that.
