I was working in wayne nj i was hired may 8th i have 25 years driving with yellow i retired in 09 came back to work and had to go into the apprentice program due to the fact i did not have 12 months or driving in the last 36.i was working as hostler when i had to take the computer course on hostling my supervisor said to click yes on all the reading and videos and take the test and if you fail any parts just write the answers down and retake.well last thursday i was in the yard and was on my last move i was to pull out an empty pup in 25 door and move it to 27 door i jumped up on the dock pulled the plate but did not close the door and i was fired i had no idea the door had to be down no one was on the dock working there was no chance for anyone to go into trailer.not even a warning so you guys had better take the time to read and watch all thats required because mngt. will sell you out.

They consider that a critical violation. Since you were on your probationary period they can fire you for having the wrong color shoe strings. Good luck in the future!!

Just out of curiosity.....since you went through the program and got fired do you have to repay a portion of the ddc fee?

Thankfully you have your retirement to lean on til you become "gainfully" employed again.Just an uneducated hypothesis, but I assume that type of thing wasn't any cause for alarm at Yellow? I laugh at all of our guys who have left SGF and have gone to our competitors because every one of them say the same thing, they are told by the competitors management constantly to slow down,or relax,or chill out,or take it easy your not at fedex anymore.

Our competitors need to send a lot of thank you cards to HRO and corporate for all the motivated, driven, and focused employees that have gone away.

Their installing a new electric fence around the perimeter of our facility. There will be 4 guard towers, one in each corner of the yard. Our new SCM has been given a staff car for his duties as he patrols our yard for nefarious and clandestine activities. We will all be indoctrinated and be given new uniforms as well. I look forward to this new chapter in FedEx life at my compound. I promise to uphold the FedEx creed and chant the purple promise slogan. Herr Mott has finally given us a leader who will guide and nurture us and make sure we will not stray fromm the task at hand.

Sorry to hear about your screw job you got. Good luck to you. Also were you really moving a trailer 1 door over? When I was in the yard we had a red shirt that liked to do that even when we were busy. We usually ignored him and tell him we just haven't gotten to it yet.

We were warned at our barn that we can't hook to or drop a trailer with the door open when the trailer is at the dock. Has there been a lot of incidences of people getting hurt in moving trailers or trailers being jostled by someone hooking up?

Move empty from 25 door to 27? That super should be the one canned for wasting time.
That's just a stupid trailer move no matter how you look at it.

And he probably raises hell at everybody else cause his #'s are in the toilet all the time.
Hmmm wonder why?

Oh yes, but lovingly called Dear Leader

We called him sugar britches. Have I got some stories about him. No dirty ones though.

Our region has gone to **** since old Mott took it over, my gosh the stuff that goes on and the trucks in our region, we also have the brain surgeon D Lemmond "lemonhead" as the regional FMM he is a tool, the kids he gets to manage centers crazy shure miss the old Brian P days!!!!

He was a good manager. And if you kissed his ass and hung out under his desk you were untouchable. He plays favorites way to much. His dad or uncle was high in the company and goes way back. His cousin is the North Fort Worth assistant mgr and then his cousin is a ops mgr in OKC. There's probably more.

I'd like to see them close a swinging door or rail before you pull it away from the dock. We have yellow cables they have to hook across the door when trailer is ready to be pulled.

"they can fire you for having the wrong color shoe strings", according to the new and improved employee handbook you can be terminated at any time for whatever reason they want to give you. I guess that's why they get sued so much. I think I would fight it but that's just the way I see them as passing the buck like they do.
