Interesting how they'll nitpick a clock punch, scrutinize drop-n-hook or breakdown times, fire you for stealing a roll of tape off a dock, yet this same company was able to somehow over a period of time accumulate a mountain of undetected so-called debt due to the acquiring of companies they couldn't afford, then as they claimed, poorly manage them. Coupling that with the poor economy, the players-to-be were able to conjure up a convincible story, compartmentalizing the facts, then sell/scare it to the lessor-majority of their workforce. Very well orchestrated, right down to the last unforeseen MOU vote that in my opinion dishonored every dues paying member who voted against it.

(dot-dot-dot) Loose lips sink ships, they invite only two players to the original kick-off party, a convincible story those two were sold, heavy boxed party favor$ exchanged as tokens of their appreciation, bind them to monetary financial discloser agreements in exact amounts, players then flown home privately, old team jerseys removed, sporting new-to-look-old jerseys, a convincible story they too were now selling, but in the last inning of a fixed game when they realized "the right to decide their own destiny" majority hadn't bought, the truth is then revealed to those wise enough to seek it, others however still drinking that nasty tainted Kool-Aid.

Huh?????

Ya.. Huh?
The only reason they fire... Or are focused on it.... Is because we are all old and cannot retire. They know that and to get rid of us is to give letters for everything and anything until you get fired. Then if they get rid of enough of us they can hire younger people for less money.
I wonder what the age of the work force averages out to be? If it can be done. We have 50 to 76 yr Olds working the ob dock.
Now.... What was the poster talking about?

Not sure what you said, but I like how you said it.

Boggling at first glance a deeper look into the depths of the opening post reveals an illustrious story of how the company is penny wise and dollar foolish then convinces two bungling idiots from Washington DC that they needed to not only drink the Koolaid but also to pass it along and sell it to the masses so they could lead them off the cliff like a herd, hoarde or flock of lemmings. (Just my interpretation).

Since the truth has been revealed to the wise ones could you please enlighten the rest of us to the truth.

You clearly misread my post, it says., "The truth is then revealed to those wise enough to seek it"

The person before you had no problem deciphering the message, he gave it some thought prior to posting.

HEY! I'm 58 and probably work circles around you, SAFELY.
But as my mind wanders back to the signing of the MNFA on January 15, 1964, which specifically states, "A fair day's wage for a fair day's work!"
Screw the letters and or harassment. Ask me! If you have the marbles/dedication to follow through!! I have personally ran off 3 supervisors in the past 3 years! Period! A PROBLEM!!! Most "teamsters" refuse to file paper grievances against management. Grow some.
How many of OUR brothers died in the past to build up labor laws?
Don't cry &whine to my face and 5 minutes later, "train" 3 pallets down the dock!!

I'm done for now! Notice the excitement! Thank You YRCF, for allowing this humble servant, to keep his employment!

I am 58 also. We would be working circles around each other.
When I go to work I work. I don't bullshit all day. I correct what needs to be corrected. I do my job. I grew a pair along time ago so don't jump my ass. I follow thru with everything and follow thru other people's stuff when they didn't the night before.
We are not allowed to train pallets. Saftey issue that just came up so they will write us up for it if we do.
Oh.... By the way. Average age company wide.... I was told yesterday... Is 52.

Terminal where safety ruled traing unsafe?

I'm 58 too, quit YRC in 2010, and quit trucking last December. No point, just noticed the 58 years old comments, and had to join in. Glad someone is still keeping that freight moving. My next goal is to move to a town where I never see a big truck.
