I drove a spare today. Presumably serviced at the Milton, PA shop because of where I work. Anyway, 62 MPH all day. Are they reducing the governor?

62 is too damn slow.

If you are putting around a major city hopping from light to light it matters not. But trying to keep a schedule on a 75 mph freeway that can kill a family under your ICC Bumper is something else entirely.

Joining the ranks of holland..... it sucks.... but you'll get use to it.

Just stay in the right lane and stay out of everyone's way.

By spare do you mean like an old sh— box like a 10 speed or a Sterling or a spare brand new freight liner …if that’s the case the new freightliners only do 62 or 63 miles an hour on the pedal… to get 65 you got to be on cruise control. Confirmed with every brand new 2021 and 2022 freight liner that we have 65 will only hold while on cruise control otherwise it’ll dump you to 62-63

If they think reducing our speed to 62 is a good idea …if there weren’t already people not applying to work here or fleeing already this will really start it. Maybe it’s a way to cook the books …they gave us the raise now they want to see how many people flee right before they sell us off

DM Bowman once required 55.

AND shut engine off at every traffic light and stop sign. We replaced air starters several times a year... They would automatically fire at 70 mph. No ifs buts or maybe.

I finally quit them. Its too draconian. AND SCARY.....

Yeah. I would tell them to shove their job too, because of 3 mph on top end. Those bastards!

Time is money so say some. Some may see it as a pay cut since it will take longer to drive the miles. Not much longer, but still it’s a cut. I don’t care about the extra ten minutes the run takes; it’s the frustration factor up and down hills unable to get around a Hunt, Swift, or Schneider driver going 60

I stay in the right lane.
Mind my own business.
Work Monday-Friday, usually almost 12 hrs
Still gross $85-90,000
And stop at the bar on Friday nights
62 fit right in with my schedule.
If you drove for Overnite In my days even you would have something to bitch about, those guys were allowed 45 mph, not 46.
We ran off route down 23 not US 29 to avoid getting behind an Overnite between Greenville S C and Atl.
These were both single-lane highways.

All those trucks had to run slower when you drove Seabreeze. Those kerosene lantern headlamps didn't shine all that far down the road. :hide:

I'm sure the intention is for you to run the cruise so it will automatically slow down with the adaptive cruise on. The 62 mph will make you mad to where you run the cruise to get 65. In theory their is less chance of tailgating and having an accident with adaptive cruise on. The reality is it sucks.

The problem arises like mentioned earlier trying to pass someone.

Adaptive cruise is dangerous. Anytime control is forcibly removed from the driver risk increases for accidents. No, I really don’t care what the experts say, my experience says it’s dangerous
A lot of new vehicles ( personal vehicles ) come equipped with some form of adaptive cruise control.

Having it on my personal vehicle with the choice to use it , I find that I hardly ever use the cruise and Lane Keep Assist. I do leave on the braking feature that warns you to stop and will stop the vehicle in an emergency situation.

We used to skedaddle out of curtis bay on the beltway by 5:40 am sharp. At 5:41 am you were surrounded by three lanes of fast LTL fed ex swarming around you hammer down for god only knows where as they scattered at 70+ off two particular ramps.

The only other time I paid people mind is the Casino Buses racing to and from Atlantic City at the stroke before lunch and after. Coming and Going.

I had a kitty, a relatively fast kitty that year. Stick it into 1900 to 2200 rpm and high shift her towards a dollar. Those ******* buses with the 60 two strokers zipped by me laughing. zip.... and gone.

I dont think the passengers gave a ::shit:: at how much those bolts must have rattled on some of those old things rode hard and put up wet. But damn some of those buses were FAST.

Yep, I leave b town at 60 and those buzzards would come at me in reverse and pass me. I finally left there and found myself in wet pants trying to go in reverse with my kitty just to lay down tracks sideways. All I can say is thank god the Florida Saints greeted me in Lubbock with a bath.

So you also ran down Rt 23 to get home 10 minutes quicker everyday?

I drove a new truck last week (only once lol) and it was 65 on the pedal.

Does that emergency braking come on when the road is bad? Or do you turn it off when that’s the case?

On my car it has an on/off button. When it's on , it works typically in the background , without interfering with my regular driving. When I approach a vehicle that I can potentially rear end , the display will flash a giant sign telling me to brake. If I don't break , in that split second afterwards it will apply the breaks itself.

Here's an example of autonomous breaking.
