i used that term to get your attention. remember during the movie smokey and the bandit, an attention getter. putting your retirement money into the csp today tomorrow or next week is a bad idea. your paying for someone else to be on retirement you will not get to see any of that money if the plan goes kaput. the pbgc is insolvent too so dont hold your breath for a rescue either.
First, there are better ways of getting attention than taking pokes at minorities. Secondly, I’ll gladly support the retirement of those who came before me with my pension contributions, just as those who came before them have supported their predecessors. I would not be here today if it wasn’t for those who proceeded me. My only hope is that we can stand strong, united for a “fair” contract, not one over-the-top, and certainly not one that is subpar either. We sacrificed greatly so this company could survive the recession that struck at the most inoppurtune time of their company acquisitions. We survived, we are strong again, and it’s time to reciprocate the sacrifices we made to make all this happen. It’s the company’s own view, that we would not be here today without the sacrifices the Teamsters made over the last decade. The company is now in the black, but it’s Teamsters are still seeing red, time for a morality bump. Time for us to make a stand and demand what’s rightfully ours through the sacrifices we’ve made. $.02
