Central Transport | Anybody out there know whats going to happen in September?

They keep saying good things are going to happen in Sept. and raises will come also. I think that maybe they close the doors and that unemployement pays more than vitran. what do you folks think?:stirthepot:
 
i did not want to start the rumor, as an ex employee it would look like i am playing with who is left, but 2 current drivers have told me raises will be coming, but not for everyone, these will be merit raises based off your tablet info that has been feed into a computer program since the first of the year. before i left the TM was handing out our reports showing EVERYTHING, finally everyone believed me when i said just how much they are tracking everyone (i brought the tablet home one night and my neighbor the computer guru looked through it, said dont belch without saying excuse me, and they can remotely control everything from microphone to camera) i assumed every terminal was handing out these reports, but maybe not.

how much no one has confirmed, but both made it clear these were merit raises, not across the board (aka fed ex) so those with quick places your reports will look better than someone who has 3 wal mart stores in a day but did twice the skid count,, that is the fed ex way people, black and white.

No one knows for sure so just ride this son of a bitc* until the wheels fall off.....Then draw unemployment awhile and start back over somewhere else. Don't stress out over what may or may not happen. Who cares at this point. What will be.......Will be. I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them have never happened.

yes, if you are into that "it accidentally got turned on" actually, it is not that difficult to write into the program,,, same but different is the Feds used to turn on your OnStar and listen inside a car without planting a microphone with a wiretapping warrant. maybe designed if you lose your pad they can take a pic of it's location (or a pic of who is using it after stealing it) like the iPhone can. but like anything else, good things can be used in bad ways too

that is why i said the way i said it,,,,, this is what 2 have told me on separate occasions, word coming in when both were going to turn in their notices, CK trying to close the flood gates

Of course I was being sarcastic and just kidding but most know what these tablets are capable of and act accordingly. Many guys have grown paranoid of them in Dallas and put foil over them.....Many leave them at their customers dock and come back later to get them....Drop their trailer and put the tablet in the back of it then unhook and go to lunch..... I think its silly personally. I just do my job and don't worry about it.
 
Merit raises could put them in legal jeopardy. Companies went to across the board raises years ago to avoid the Union, and discrimination lawsuits (now EEOC filings).
 
In an effort to slow down turnover, some of the Milan legacy drivers have had phone calls from regional VP's... The word is they will TRY to give .25 cents in Sept.... But no guarantee. The next dangling carrot was in Feb. They will evaluate how well they are doing( don't make me laugh).They have the nerve to ask what's the problem? Lol. Told him it's 2013 and I'm not working for 2003 wages anymore. As a result, they are now running temp service drivers on p&d. Ride this job to the end.... Or move on...the choice is yours, just don't buy into the spin put out by this band of fools!

S**ew the Unions.... that being said they can give anyone a raise at any time, it is a reduction in pay that can get them in trouble (depending on the state). here, they must inform you in writing as to a reduction in
pay BEFORE you start working for that new rate, or, the state will make up the difference and fine the company for the difference

For someone that presents themselves as a "hard worker" it seems like you know an awful lot about Gov'mint services. In my experience, the only ones that are specialists in Government services are those in constant need of them. You would never have made it past the interview with me, cause I would have left you on welfare where you had time to think about life and what you were doing wrong.

former hard worker, one of 5 runners at my terminal, got an offer I could not turn down, it was due to my knowledge and maturity i got this job.....still have many friends at my old terminal who rely on my knowledge of what's going on, same as some on here.... took a job with equal pay, dedicated equipment,,,,now with my 60 day raise, making almost $600 more a month than i did at Vitran, not to mention benefits add up. was self employed for years, so yes, i had to learn employment laws to protect myself and advise others what is legal and not
 
I love to speculate and chat about this kind of stuff. It releaves some of the stress for working at a company with seemingly no direction or interest in labor.

However, as a real world plan I have my eyes on a prize. If employment at this first class operation is offered I will leave without a second thought. However, I still see the possibility of Vitran being a good place to work SOMEDAY. There will be a lot of pain and frustration for labor who sticks it out. That pain and frustration will, in my opinion, pay off like a high risk stock: top of the pile in a great company or the doors will be closed or you will be sold off to some dirt bag investor.
 
It's really pointless to speculate unless its for amusement purposes only. When you been here as long as I have you learn not take things too serious. The frustration will come and go. Only the uncertainty will remain. Learn to accept it or drive yourself crazy. I choose to accept it and move forward until they shut the doors if indeed that ever happens. As you keep reading the same old shi* from the Train....Let me key stroke it again....As long as the checks keep clearing the bank.......I'm good.

no fckn way they have that kind of technologically ! They gave a dude whose been out on comp and light duty for 5 years a driving award and pin. Don't count your blessings to early....

If I know anything about Vitran it is going to be a way to blame labor for not getting a raise. Vitran just wrote a little ditty and it goes something like this...

Of course drivers who have gotten DOT tickets will get no to little raise. However, if you get out late because you have something fixed you will be told you miss your cut time so you will get little to no raise.

And the beat goes on...and the beat goes on.
