There was an F22 Raptor that used to do that when it was in town for the Mount Comfort Air Show. Pretty awesome to witness. (For those that don't know, YRC terminal is next to the Indy airport runway.)

What was eerie was working the Indy dock after 9/11 when planes were gounded. The silence was scary...

I listened, couldn't watch. I'm certain the actual seats were sold out, but 95 degree heat with lightning chased people from the stands. I've been there when the 500 had 400,000 people.

Weather doesn't chase people away anymore.Its the crazy segmented races and stupid altercations.Nascar really is dwindling in spectators.nobody I know watches NASCAR anymore.

It wasn't sold out. I would be surprised if the the stands were even 25% occupied. NASCAR is in a serious slump right now. It will probably remain that way until Bill France steps down.

Proof that bigger isn't always better.Start times suck for racing too.Back in the day,the only 3pm starts were West coast.All Sunday races should have a 12 to 1 pm EST,start time...Excluding the Cali tracks.
