We (Memphis) have been threatened by management about using cartage in the city. Today I was told scab trailers were dropped on the yard. Any thoughts or course of action will help. They blame this action on absenteeism. Only on Monday’s and Friday’s.
They did in Nashville and it cost them big time.Get copy of bills and manifest and grieve the hell out of it.Wish I could help but the ones who have dealings with this issue NO longer are allowed in this forum.
I don’t know how the southern region is, but in the Carolina supplement they can call an emergency hearing on subcontracting cartage. If they can show proof of consistency in shortage of drivers on certain days the panel will allow them in.It’s doesnt make since. $80.00 dollars an hour is what they are willing to pay for cartage plus greivance loses. Come to work guys.
Yeah , we have had 6 Cartage Straight trucks at $80 bucks a hour for over a year now and still can't move all the freight and even some barns have Cartage semi's pulling out trailers and even YRC has CRST pulling YRC trailers , but funny thing is they have money for Cartage but no money to bump up our pay to match the non-union scale ?? and key point to remember is that the "YES SHEEP" voted cartage in and to the UNION stood by and watched it happen !!!Thanks Wong just what I didn’t won’t to hear.
Leadership should be replaced. Yes f you don’t have the capacity to deliver freight volumes then jack the price up until very lunes fall to a manageable level and make greater profit per delivery by not hauling break-even freight
It's been happening in Joliet for years!!! Sad but true!We (Memphis) have been threatened by management about using cartage in the city. Today I was told scab trailers were dropped on the yard. Any thoughts or course of action will help. They blame this action on absenteeism. Only on Monday’s and Friday’s.
