Heard that the Terminal Manager at Akron 211 was demoted to City Ops Manager at Cleveland 218 Monday.

This is on top of the Linehaul Manager that was let go about 3 weeks ago. Heard that more management changes are coming!

Anybody got any more details?

They need to lean out all the mgmt. They just get in the way anyway and are a hindurance to operations. The fewer the better.

I'd like to hear performance updates on any demoted managers. I can't see how they could be worth a ::shit:: at a job that they undoubtedly feel is below them. The prudent thing to do would be to just show up and escort them out the door unexpectedly. A disgruntled manager could cause a lot of trouble for a company.

bill zollars caused a lot of trouble for this company! and he was not disruntled he was delusional.

I kind of get this notion. That some not all of the term mgrs.and others have been pushing false operation numbers to corporate.Although some of us have known about this for a while.Just my speculation
I'm with you here. My dispatcher will have us criss cross our areas passing and waving at each other because it looks better for him on paper if there are miles to show vs sitting under a tree waiting for the pickups to get ready. In the big picture though that idea does not sit well with us so we drag our feet and do less.

You are correct. Once a manager's performance is deemed unproductive, termination is essential.

They all pencil whip the numbers. Thats a big part of this companies problem, is they do stupid stuff that looks good on paper regardless if it is profitable or not. The only numbers they should care about should be the ones measured in dollars, but with this company that is just never the case. Stops per hr and bills per hr dont matter, if a driver sits somewhere for 2-3 hrs and picks up a trailer load of good paying freight, thats all that should matter. Cant count the number of good accounts we've lost over the years because dispatch couldnt stand for us to sit for awhile. They would rather us drive to BFE to get 1 skid then go next door to get a trailer load of ltl if we have to sit for a while.

A little birdie told me that this summer, Akron will become an end of line terminal, and Columbus will return as a distribution center.

You should never have to sit for "two or three hours" as a city driver. That's what drop trailers are for. But then again, YRC invented trucking so I'm sure YRC has lots of reasons for what they do.
