Most barns have plenty of extra work but no OT pay, just straight time, start times are different everywhere and most twin screw tractors will be slip seat as well as a few single axles. It takes either3 or 5 years to get to top rate. What is pay for city drive
OT?
Start times?
Slip seat trucks?

Couldn't tell ya, I was linehaul. I know the pallet jack was $500 tho. I would think you could supply your own and I did see "for sale" pages up in the dispatch room but I don't wanna give u bad info, that's just what I know to be true in NJHuh. Buy your own pallet jack. If you get a better deal somewhere else can you bring one in? What do you do once you decide to quit, take the pallet jack with you? Anybody care to elaborate?
Yes, you can buy a two wheeler & pallet jack from anywhere. If you buy them through R&L, they will set up weekly payroll deduction for them if you like. I've seen some guys take them when they quit or get lucky and sell them to a new hire before they leave. I've always thought it was shady to make the drivers buy their own, but oh well... There was actually an order form in the driver's room for electric jacks not too long ago. I think we actually had two drivers order one, at like $4 to $5,000 a piece....umm NO!!Huh. I was told it was so we would take responsibility in keeping up with them and not leaving them behind at customer’s docks.Have they ever heard explanation for why they make the driver buy this equipment?
Yep, that’s the way it’s been for years. Are you seriously saying that r&l doesn't provide drivers with the equipment needed to do the job? At no cost to the driver?
Hmm, in TN, we’ve never got reimbursed for boots either. In California R+L provides your pallet jack at no cost, also reimburses for required work boots once per year.
I prefer owning my own jack because I can take care of it and also community jacks type system is always junk.My jack is 11 yrs old and works greatAre you seriously saying that r&l doesn't provide drivers with the equipment needed to do the job? At no cost to the driver?
