Sounds like a good ideal, It worked back then. Of course unless someone was going to Bangor we didn't need fuel that often as 120 fueled everything not going on a short turn.I'm guessing it will be done the old way from now on,.....fuel and call for a PO #. We never had fuel cards, we fueled and called in. Roadway had an account with Dysarts in Bangor, ME. and Buzzy's in NH. and Goodall's in Ct. didn't need a PO # with them.
Maybe that's the purpose of the Book, they will be established accounts, just sign and roll.
Unfortunately, Nashville, Akron, Chicago and others did not subscribe to that thought. Our payrecs have on them ...." During Your Pre-Trip, Check Your Fuel tanks, They Must Be Full".....KK
Come on Hoos.... You actually believe your last 2 sentences?Unfortunately, Nashville, Akron, Chicago and others did not subscribe to that thought.
Funny that when a new driver comes on board, he is trained to look in tank and not the gauge. However the company tells the switchers do use the guage. That is why we run out of fuel.
And you wonder why Guys coming out of Akron to the east have to get fuel all the time?Unfortunately, Nashville, Akron, Chicago and others did not subscribe to that thought.

A good pre trip is more hitting the starter ,turning lights and 4 ways on. A fast walk around. Get back in cab and away we go.More than a few problems would be eliminated if everyone did a proper pre-trip. Unfortunately we all know what actually happens all too often.
Run out of fuel once in 10 degree weather and you will rethink looking in the tank.Unfortunately, Nashville, Akron, Chicago and others did not subscribe to that thought.

Shop it for low fuel, that will raise some eyebrowsDo you get paid fuel time? Just pull every damn one around and top it off. See how they like that.
Or like the hat on the left says.....A good pre trip is more hitting the starter ,turning lights and 4 ways on. A fast walk around. Get back in cab and away we go.
