So Sad to see driver's going out the gate with no trailer light's,brake light's not working. Now those driver's go out and cause a wreck and they say my light's were working.Better yet they get stopped for a DOT Inspection and when the ticket is wrote OD has to pay.Driver's we get payed good money to pull those trailer's.So do your job to make sure everything is working and safe to pull.

And to add to my concern.Had a driver this week drop a container.Driver hooked it high and didn't even look. This driver is alway's in a hurry and does no wrong. Then I get home last night and had a line driver call me to let me know that a city driver forgot to set his brake when parking to go home yesterday.Well, result was two Tractor's made love last night in the parking lot.:poster oops:

Safe to say over 80% of our drivers just hook and go, Text and drive, hold phones to their ears, speed and drive all night after being awake all day for father of the year.

Will the driver who forgot to set the brakes face termination?

Bigger terminals now need their own safety personnel. We're desperate and hiring people we never would have 10-20 years ago and these idiots are going to cost OD a lot of money in the future with their bonehead moves.

Don't you know PRINCIPLES now longer matter , it is only about the PROFIT. Only when the wheels start falling off the wagon do those in the tower start questioning how things went wrong. Just remember how many companies were thought to be best in industry and the most profitable that are no longer in business.

I turn each night in our drop yard in GOK. Each day I see clear evidence of guys not doing pre/post trips. Hell, half the guys that bring equipment in there cant even be bothered to put it away properly. Personally, I couldn't go home feeling good about myself if I half-assed my way through my day like some of these dudes do !

I get really tired of guys that can't raise the landing gear up far enough so that they don't drag the gear or get stuck in a pothole when hooking or dropping. Unbelievable. Happens all the time.

They're the same ones that stand out there cranking the gear into the ground so that the trailer is too high for the next guy ...

How about the guys that don't understand the word "tug" in tug test! Half the drivers at my terminal back into the tail then tow it 15+ ft to make sure it's hooked. All it takes is a slight tug then a visual inspection. Who the hell is teaching this crap?

It's monkey see, monkey do. See the same :shit: at my company every night. Get to the TA Popeye's first, safety second. Saw a guy catch a leg in a crease, bend it out of service, no consequences. Driver shortage=anything goes.

Don't think OD is the only one having these problems, SAIA is the same....Watched line driver leave with both mud flaps missing off the rear pup. SAIA saying "Quality Matters" as long as the numbers are GOOD.

Sounds like you have some guys that came over from Estes. Our trailers are parked so close together that we have to hook to it and drag it out of the holes just to crank the landing gear up.

I like when drivers drop it high then the dock loads it nice and heavy next super trucker comes along hooks and does his “15ft tug test” trying to see how far they can dig the foot pads into the pavement. Or see how long they can drag the legs before the fold up. Then get pissed because every trailer they hook to takes 10 minutes to crank up the gear because the legs are bent to hell

Exactly. We have a guy that from a southern terminal that low drops trailers so low, you have to go out and crank it up, just to get the tractor under it.

Yep, there’s a particular driver out of ELP that does the same thing when he drops in TUS.... even dumping the bags I can barely get underneath it. Of course the trailer is like 23k too.

You bunch of pansies gripe about everything, I've seen Billy get a trailer with no handle, he whipped out a pair of
vice grips, wound that gear up while whistling Dixie, and went on his merry way.

Did he write it up after being so manly? so that it might get fixed after he delivered all that freight.

No he whipped out a fingerprint kit and swabbed for DNA to find out the last driver that pulled the trailer and didn't write it up.

If Billy saw some of the CRST trailers we get at the Coop, he'd have to use a rape kit....
