Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced that it has been named 2009 National LTL Carrier of the Year by GlobalTranz, a logistics and supply chain management firm specializing in carrier, supply chain and warehouse management. This is the first award for Con-way Freight since GlobalTranz began recognizing carriers five years ago.
Con-way Freight has served as a core carrier for GlobalTranz since 2008, handling the company's needs for regional and national LTL service. The company evaluates carriers annually for its carrier of the year award on a range of criteria, including on-time pickup and delivery, customer service, billing accuracy, driver skill and overall brand reputation. GlobalTranz presented the award to Con-way Freight at its recent annual carrier convention in Las Vegas.
