Congress To The Rescue

Why post that here? Congress did NOT rescue CSPF. They awarded $350 billion to resettle illegals into mainland US. They awarded $25 million to the Kennedy Center who took the money and laid off their orchestra. They awarded $100 billion to various nations in Africa. But they did NOT rescue CSPF!

"Country boy can survive", quite nicely on unemployment, plus an extra 600 dollars a week. Turkey season, mushroom season, walleye, perch fishing on lake Erie. Hells bells why go back to work. North central rural, rust belt Ohio, appreciates being rescued by congress.

He didn't say that Congress rescued the CSPF........He said ...."Congress to the Rescue"....and then laid out the provisions of the CARES Act.
He also didn't say that Congress awarded $350 billion to resettle immigrants,,.....or awarded the Kennedy Center $25 billion,...or African nations $100 billion.......

And it also didn't say anything about....bailing out any pension plan. The CBO-estimated $34 billion that the Butch Lewis Act would've cost,...looks like chump change compared to the SBA bailouts, and other items in the CARES Act.

But, of course, we can't bail out private pension plans,....Horrors!

So far , the Multi-Employer Pension Recapitalization and Reform Plan hasn't made it out of the Finance Committee in the form of a Bill,....Just a Proposal so far. S.2254,..the Butch Lewis Act is still in Committee....

But,..the CARES ACT also did not have ..."$350 billion to resettle immigrants"....The closest I could find was a PDF of the Senate Appropriations Committee...www.appropriations.senate.gov.Coronavirus Supplemental Appropriations Summary_FINAL.pdf....
.....which says: "$340 billion"...and spells out,...dollar for dollar,...where the money goes. No "immigrant re-settling".

Read it yourself,...

Personally, I prefer the actual Bill text,....rather than the "media" interpretation.....
