2 months in and the new 269 barn is functioning, but we're about 10-12 guys short.
So they have scabs delivering city freight till they can hire enough people.
Every day there's between 8 and 12 straight trucks that show up depending on the volume for the day that we load after our guys are loaded.
Were keeping current somehow.
They hired one guy that started Monday, and another road tested today.
Were starting to think that's the whole reason for the change, they got the city driver cost off of 042's books, and were able to get scabs in to do the work.
Not sure how it's saving them anything though, the scabs are getting 1000.00 flat rate a day.
But I'm sure not insuring, paying benifits and payroll to 10 drivers adds up.
We filed multiple grievances, the result is every cdl guy hired through 042 that don't want to be a road driver is being pushed to 269 per the regional hiring chick that's based at 042.
Starting at top rate, no probation, and 10 grand up front.
For a new guy it's a good deal, no forced weekends, no weekend bids,no call board so they get a bid as soon as they're finished training.
Third shift dock is 10 pm Sunday-midnight Monday toThursday
Second shift dock is scattered 11 am to 3pm.
The city driving bids start at 4am to 830 am
