R&L | Cost of Living Increase Given To....

I can deal with not getting the cost of living increase but They better think long and hard about what they do to us next year.Far too many companies get accustomed to shoving up the drivers collective butts.I hope they realize they will have to give us something next year or deal with a lot of angry drivers.
 
Not to butt in here...BUT...It seems most drivers are angry no matter what.

I for one just want to do my job and have some quality time with my family once in a while. Just two months back I was working 40-45 hours a week but not getting home until after 7pm. The starting at 930-1000 am sucked. Fast forward to now...working 50-53 hours a week and still not getting home till after 7pm. Where's my family time? My dispatcher continually keeps me out because he relies on me too much...

As for not getting a COLA this year I can live with that...I make $23.47 and hour. I am thankful for the things that I can buy with the money I make. Money isn't everything you know. Everybody hates something about their job. But the constant complaining is really getting boring. I tell each and everyone that complains at work to move on if you can't handle the pressure. We all have jobs to do...let's work together and get the job done.

I cannot believe the work we get done on a daily basis with all the bicchun' and moanin' going on...BUT somehow the job gets done. Everyone wants to blame every one else for their problems and not look at themselves in the mirror and find fault.

If I could find a 9-5 job that pays as well I would take it...just so I could be home at a decent hour every night and not take the physical beating that this job commands.

No I am not drinking any green koolaid...I am just a person who works hard and respects that fact that I have a job and make decent money without having a college education. I guess my 10 years in the military has afforded me the ideals of "respect, gratitude, and integrity...not to mention discipline." The military thrives on teamwork...there is no "I" in "TEAM".

Hey Big$Driver! Did you notice the time on LeftLaneCruisers comments.... Either RR or JC worked past 5 today in an effort to throw us off on the time, as we predicted they would respond at 8 am the next day... Trying to mix it up... Got to give it to them, THEY think they are sneaky....

Well said brother. I will ad this. Let's say we got a cola and a pay increase. Are we willing to look at your friends and co worker that would be laid off. Not me. We hired some drivers in LSV. For me that is two men that can now feel a little better about going home at night.
 
I am not saying i dont like my job because i do really like it here. The only thing i dont see right is that Certain people(aka salemen) got raises. If raises were not going to be given it should have been across the board. I dont care what the Roberts do with their money, it is theirs to do with what they want, as long as they are fair to all. I have been with this company 14 years and yes got used to the Col raises every year. Just because we didnt get a raise do they think the cost of living has not increased? Go to the gas pump or store and see. All i have to say on this. Thanks
 
Not a puppet,just a realist. If you are so upset about a few measley dollars then just call up comrade Obama and he will send you a bail out. I for one will continue to work for what I have. I put in a fair days work for a fair days pay. I made good money this time last year and will make good money this time next year. Look around at the people in the stores and at people you know,how many of them do you think are jealous of you? I sometimes feel guilty making what I make while other drivers are losing their houses or having to take whatever they can find. No matter how good of a driver you think you are you can bet that better drivers than you and me are out there struggling. As far as me being a Roberts or a puppet-I would venture to say that I have been wrote up or sent home as much as all of you on here combined. I just know a good thing when I see it,and we are all on board a good thing. Just relax and enjoy the ride.
 
you all should be worried about what the Roberts do with their money and pay raises, you all made the company what it is today, without you all the Roberts would have nothing. They are going to start taking employees for granted because they feel you will settle for almost nothing and be happy that you have a job. Then again don't be worried, you will be taking home just enough to make it back to work the next day until you drop, some of you will only live to see your 50's so I wouldn't worry about but if you think you might live past 65 and your in your 20's to 40's you should be worried. Dont get mad when the Roberts youngest is trying to take more money from you later down the road, They learned from their elders that these guys and gals are just happy to have a job, Have a nice life. I know, L1 owns 43+ companies and each company's revenue is on his screen every morning. I know in the left hand corner of his office is his favorite alligator with a YRC trailer in his mouth ( the corner that faces the water tower he bought, dismantled and rebuilt across the street.) I know that in the winter RR's dogs stay in the uninsulated barn and it cost about $10,000 grand a month to heat but he says GOD will take care of him for supplying the heat to his dogs.
I know that C picked up a model of L2's addition and T didnt like it. I know that when they were laying tile in 2's home his dog pooped on the floor and the tile man chased him with a broom only to be repremanded by the fence man telling him the dog was more important than he was. I know that RR's
has pictures done at Lauries Studio, I sure would like to use the Condos at Trump Tower in New York for an employee resort. I know that L2's is putting a jet engine in his Hummer because Jay Leno has one. I know someone stayed at the Holiday Inn for a while because of an indiscretion ( I know who it was with). I know L1 had a dream that someone close to him would destroy the company ( The dream is comming to pass):nutkick:. I know a lot about the company --- What do you want to know?????? Just ask. OK OK you dont have to ask I will set up an information Hot Line for all to call. I will give the line haul drivers the flyers for the line and they will distribute and then you can call me and I will answer any question you might have.

PS I know the University of Florida is a great school for engineers. I know in the deeeep south a professional golfers clubs he was shipping to a tournament came up missing out of OS&D and after L1 went off they
were found (only after a few holes had been played in Lakeland). I know L1 caught TR on the couch in a very awkward situation at the old terminal long time ago. I know what happened in Cleveland and Norwalk. I also know how it was handled.

Yeah, we all should be worried...We continue to have a job, when most of the other carriers have laid off drivers in massive numbers...

Yeah we should be worried, most of us are working 50-60 hours a week, making $55000.00 to $75000.00 a year

Yeah we should be worried....Most all of the drivers at other carriers gave back 5-10% or more of their pay back, not mention they lost thier 401-k match..

Talk about doom and gloom, have you ever thought about thinking positivly instead of negativly?

Man if its so bad, life is to short working for people you hate...Go find something better...Its their company, they can run it how they choose to..
 
I see no anger or bitterness in my post. Someone questioned what I know. I am sorry if that offends you. I have no wealth envy, I am a rich man, my family is my wealth. I do have a very good life and I am a Christian as you portray yourself to be. I am offended when the owners tell everyone that God gave them what they have today. You should read more than Luke 12:48

Very good points!!! It could be a lot worse, sure we all would have liked a Cost of living raise, but take a look around...There are so many people losing thier jobs, factories closing down, the whole economy is in the trash, and Obama is making it worse...

At this point, if you have a decent job, making decent money, you are doing pretty good...

If you working for R&L, making $23.47 an hour, working 40-60 hours a week, then you are BLESSED and just may not know it...

Some people don't know what they have until its gone...
