SAIA | Countdown to Chaos!!!

:chairshot: 6 days til all hell breaks loose. Are you ready???

If you guys haven't sampled the goods by now, you will really be in for a fun time.

Hopefully, with the weather finally calming down and the integration process well along things will go smoother than we might think.

It would be nice to see a big bump in the business levels.

:chairshot: Sampled all of the fun I want.Back to the same ,No communication, running around like chickens with our heads cut off.Life is good here up north.

Anybody else have the problem of calling in to find about pick ups-to be told there are no pick ups-then 10 minutes from the terminal-they call and ask for your rundown on your pick ups?

Sounds like a dispatcher that is lost and confused.

Are they putting dispatch calls on the Nextel or are the calls done manually? If it is done on the Nextel, as you clear the calls they should know about what you have left. If it is done manually, well they are depending on you to tell them what is going on.

Yep, as in any large organization and many small ones ya just about have to be a mind reader.

Lost and confused! NOT even in the same galaxy. Although, in his defense, he is the only one in the office. ALL DAY. Four phone lines (one of which is permanantly connected to Tim), and eight nextells. He has his day cut out for him and corp refuses to give him any help. They must really be happy with him to not think he needs help.

Kinda makes you think of one of those one man band type deals. How many live bodies are at this terminal?

Eight drivers that all leave around 11:00am, two dock workers (one of which is a driver) who leave around 11:00am, and this one man band until around 5:00pm when the one dock worker comes in.

Givem time. At some point the numbers will justify getting at least a part time clerk. Hopefully the freight will ramp up enough to bring everybody up to full strength personnel wise.

How's the first week of March going so far?

Hectic! Crazy! Unbelieveably stupid. I guess you could say its the same old same old. They do have a p/t clerk. He comes in at 5:00pm to take over where the other man leaves off.

Howzit goin'?

Anybody heard how things are going since March 5 system wide? Is this gonna be one of those things that takes 6 to 8 months to ramp up? (Or until the next big snowfall in the midwest)

They are a hiring some here in the Chicken Fried Nation. Dunno how much. One might wonder what inside info tells them to do that.

Starting to see Connection equipment down here in the Chicken Fried Kingdom now.

Swing door 53' trailers. I guess they were able to get them at a good price.
