Yellow | CSPF Proposal Of Deep Cuts For Some

I'll really be surprise if they let us retirees vote on the matter because they say their more of us than their of you and you know how we're going to vote NO.Did they cut the pay of the SOB that running Central States that's making over 600th a year I'd say not or any other of them clowns up their with him. You know brothers and sisters i sign a contract paper that I'd draw this amount the rest of my life if stay out of anything that was teamsters or might be teamsters in the future and I have done that to the letter I've honor mine they need to honor theirs now.You active members is the only life line we have now a lot of us are to old or sick to work and our bills will not stop like yours will not we pay the same prices for bread and milk just like you do and in most cases we pay more our insurance is not free we have to pay for it we need your help vote no on this matter more of us will die everyday and if the spouses get any thing at all it's half and if the spouse is dead it all go's back to the fund. Please don't let retired brothers and sisters live in total poverty vote no.

Why a town hall, acting like its not really happening? The meetings needed held prior to October 2014, not today. Only Congress can change it. The letters will tell the story. That's reality. I'm actually grateful. Now guys in their 40s might have a chance to draw something. Without this cut, they'll get zero. And I'm in my 60s, with more than half my time at Preston, so I lose a bunch too...

I just went to Central website and my understanding of it is if we vote it down the government can still over ride our vote but I'm still voting NO NO on it.
All participants of the plan, retired or active, will be eligible to vote. I would urge anyone who is receiving benefits or contributing to CSPF to make SURE your current address in on file.
And yes, Treasury will have the authority to over rule any vote.

Anyone know if there is a orphan list out there telling on what company quit paying?
MPRA mandates the terms of benefit reductions for “orphans,” participants (and their beneficiaries) whose employers failed to pay their full withdrawal liability (the money they owed for contributions to the pension fund on behalf of their employees). A list of employers whose participants and beneficiaries are considered “orphans” can downloaded by clicking here.

We do get to vote on the matter but,it has already been stated that the treasury
department has the final say.I don't think anyone will vote yes excfman.I am
terribly sorry for your situation,I am a x C.F also. At this point prayers will do us
much better than any vote. The only solution I see to make the retirees whole is
a government bailout for the fund. They did it for Wall Street and G.M , but the blue collar workers in our country aren't their priority. Their campaign speeches are all blabber
to get our votes. Good luck brother.

Any bailout from a republican congress is doubtful. Bernie Sander's Keep our Pension Promises Bill to repeal the MPRA of 2014 does offer a solution to congress. But that too is unlikely to be passed by the republicans

There definitely won't be any bailout. Remember according to talk radio. the taxpayers already pay our pensions. That's why they call them pensions. You won't confuse anyone with facts, I already tried. The pension cuts are payback to us "communistic socialists". And us "union thug scumbags " never worked a day in our lives anyways. Could you imagine a union, a real union for ALL drivers? strike 1 day ONE %$%^^ING DAY!!! watch what happens then. No wait make that ONE WEEK. let the store shelves empty out, then watch.............

Or the dems alike. Congress is only interested in their own pensions. I am thinking of starting a call for their underfunded pension plan to be reduced to our levels. What do you think my odds are? besides what else do I have to do?

That may have worked back in 1965 when I started, but not today. We are too few in numbers now to make a difference. Congress knows this.

Sounds like they are doing away with the YRC employees having to stay til they are 65. This may cause a mass exit from the company. No use in staying for $24 a month in pension. taxes and inflation will eat that up.

That is true. If all I am gonna get is what I have now no point in staying in that mess.
Just gets more frustrating everyday.

A co-worker of mine at yrc just retired last month and I go at the end of this month. he has no restrictions on him for working but I will . we both are 62 and fell within the guide lines for retiring..
