Did anyone get the letter sying YRCW is not acting in good faith with Reddaway

But I did get the company letter about to many absentees on Fridays and Mondays. Did you get that?Can I trade that for a pin?

LOL, we got that one too. Funny because it was supposed to be a thoughtful letter from "our" regional VP to us. Sounds like a YRCW form letter that has a fill in "your name here" line. Just more BS from them to us. Did it have the part about being well rested before coming in to work? And the part about really trying your best for the next five days? We told them its hard to come in well rested after you work 12-14 hours a day 5 days a week. But of course they didn't want to hear that.

They had that letter posted everywhere in Atlanta but I guess some of the guys in the city forgot to read it, 40 called off sick Friday.
 
You know our TM takes a lot of Fridays off!! He is the top man in charge, the supposedly the most important person there. If it’s good for the goose it should be good for the gander!! That letter was a waist of a good tree.
 
They sent the letter and cried about missing Friday March 30th. What they failed to take into account is that at least in Columbus, alot of guys took off that Friday because they had to. The company will not pay for unused Personal Days. Alot of people had not used their days. Maybe if the company would change that policy more people would have worked. We have a lot of money grubbers. They get a full check for their sick days, I'm sure they would work if they could.

No. Sick days can be taken any day without advance permission. Personal days are like your birthday (if your birthday falls during the week, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) if you want off Monday or Friday you have to give seven days notice, per the contract.

We used to have a policy put in place by our old TM strictly because of this end of year situation. At that time he told us that we could use any available paid days for book offs, but to burn the vacation days first. This way, at the end of the year, if there were still sick (& personal) days available and you didn't want to use them, they would be bought back. Vacation days however were on the "use them or lose them" scenario. He allowed us to use sick days for vacation or personal if those had been used up already. This policy worked quite well for several years and one TM after him. However, the TM that came in just over a year ago decided to change our policy. Now we have to submit vacation & personal days in advance and wait to see if he will approve them and we must burn our sick days for when we book off. Most if not all the men are ticked off over this situation, as it was our lame duck previous steward that allowed the TM to make this change unchallenged.

We may end up doing this as a way of getting our old policy restored. Book off Thurs, return to work on Tues. Book off Fri, return on Wed. If he wants to play by the book, then we will have to play by the book. :1036316054:
