What is up with the outside rear drive tire being removed on these rental trucks that your teams are running in the west? Wow long question, sorry. Oh and they are three axle tractors. Why not take off all the tires on the rear axle and chain it up to the frame. LOL

Big R had this problem also. Can't make a turn without hitting the landing gear with the outside tire of back axle on "large car" rentals.

Ok call me stupid!!!!! Never thought about that. That redeems me from thinking they were just getting real cheap. Thanks for the answer I can sleep easier now.

yo greezy...

tha vast majority of our pups have 30" kingpins......

the brand new ones and all of ROADWAY's are on a 36" kingpin setting......

also our landing gear is a bit more inboard so tandems don't clear as easily......

our old tandem tractors have fixed 5th wheels....

the newer ones have 2 position sliders......

the brand new ones have 3 positions....

one for vans.....

one for older YELLOW pups.....

one for new pups and ROADWAY pups.....

a little confusing but, having the 5th wheel in the right hole can make a 2000# difference on the steer.......

hope that sets you straight.....
