FedEx Freight to begin driver furloughs next month

Wait, what happened to the buyout rumor? I know it must be true, I heard it on Facebook!!!

Well, they were offering a pretty lucrative buyout for senior road drivers.

1. A rascal scooter with Fedex Freight embroidered on the seat.
2. Two free vouchers for breakfast at Dennys.
3. One pack of hot dogs per month through 2023.
4. Five percent discount on shipping. (Some restrictions apply)

Combine this with the generous $300 a week furlough offer, and Fedex Freight may just go bankrupt.

Might get a few with that weiner offer.

Like it or not, at least they are offering it up by seniority.
They are giving $300 a week as well.
And they are allowing you to keep some insurance.
They're under no obligation to do any of these things.

You know us ignorant driver's could tell months ago we had too many driver's yet they kept hiring. So now we are supposed to be grateful they are letting us keep insurance if we are furloughed.

Who was the highly educated upper management that told them to keep hiring? When they are offering CC days in the summer it not rocket science to know you are over staffed.

Thank you almighty FedEx for all your generosity.

We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're not worthy!

They're hedging their bets. That's it.
They know they'll need the drivers by March, and don't want to go through the PITA of having to hire again after the last 2yrs.

Sounds like u have seniority.... Why or how does it affect you?
If not, why would you hire on knowing they overstaffed with you?
