The movie Full Metal Jacket was a very true story of what Marine Corps Bootcamp was like back in the nineteen-sixties. The summer of 1969 for me.

In retrospect my four years in the Marine Corps was a very good start in a young mans life.

In retrospect my four years in the Marine Corps was a very good start in a young mans life.

As you get older you can respect your drill sergeant. I think of the group of misfits he had to start with. Probably the most important lesson he taught us was to listen & follow instructions. The little details in boot camp seemed unimportant but following instructions later would save our lives.
