Here we go again a 11 + year linehaul driver with a Tues start gets sent home again, while all these guys that have not been here as long and they are hub/new extra board get to run. So tired of this, should have went back to hub I guess, this is gonna really start to suck, the more years you get at this place the worst it gets!!

Call Somebody~!!!!!!!!

Who do you call, already talked to HR and talked to them nicely about how unfair this so called fair as possible bidding/categories put you in. What do you get, well Estes has done this for years. Da like I dont know that 11 years plus. DAAAA!
Well it does not pay to stay here for years. Some terminals ya, but us ones that are smaller and not the breaks got screwed over 4 years ago and our still gettin it handed to us.
Just gets old, now its getting slow and even though you have years at this company you get even more screwed.
I can run City/work a Dock on the Hub, even though we have plenty of so called Hub runs that you don't even touch a dock/ and of course Linehaul, which I like the money on, but slow down and man gettin it handed to us now.
I got twenty more years left in this industry so as much as i hate to look somewhere else, what can you do!
And remember when you switch classes you get even more screwed to go back to your original class, me got put to the bottom driver, gee now I got a Tues start,,,well at the first of the year I can go to Sun maybe, but can't even go back to Hub now cause we have hire 2 new guys that took two new hub runs that they posted in the summer, I refused one of them and now they get first dabs on everthing hub at the 1st of the year.
Come to think of it we were Hub end of 09 to beginning of 10 then Utilility, because I was dumb I guess, thought I would get a good mix of things to do which I like. But then ended up just working Hub, so went back to hub for awhile, then then they cancel hub runs and I got left out in the cold.
By the way that is 6 months worth of Utility time that goes toward nothing because the new way of collecting time on Utility does not count from back then. So needles to say I worked here for 6 months for nothing. God I could go ON and ON but what for, nobody around here seems to see what is wrong with this company why we have problems hiring drivers, and good ones leaving.
So even though I got little over a year hub time and no time in between those times on the Hub, because Utility counts as nothing, these new guys that 1 has been here 8 months, the other is not new but only been hub for 7 months get to bid on a hub run before me.
Because now I am a full fledged Linehaul driver out here strumming my guitar to a different tune I guess!!

I'm going to help y'all out. I'm going Vacation next week. You know my usual spots. Key West, Cayman Islands and Montego Bay Jamaica. I guess I'll be Strumming my six string too. Along with smelling shrimp, Eating some spongecake, Drinking some frozen concoctions, I might even get a brand-new tattoo.

Let me know how Montego Bay and The Caymans were, I'm going in November on a 7 dayer......Which cruise line are you guys using...We're going Carnival...

yeah, Carnival. Leaving out Sunday spending all day at Key West Monday then 2 days at sea then Cayman Wednesday and Thursday Montego. I think it's over Saturday. Last year we took the Norwegion cruise. I'm not picky but my wife likes carnival mostly because of the dinner seating. She likes the assigned seating in the nicer dining facility. I'll let you know. Maybe sneak a few pictures on the topless deck. Lol

hey flying by, i am not an estes driver........ yet. but all the things u were saying about " hub and linehaul and losing your strap and getting it back at the 1st of the year, and who stays and who goes home if its slow". all that seems alittle too mind boggling to me. so I take it, it works for some a nd for others it does no justice?

Fyingby, I'm at one of the smallest terminals Estes has...I've been here for almost 13 years...I've never had to call "the hill" for nothing other than an insurance problem...I suggest if you haven't gotten satisfaction from your TM or HR,call your RM, if nothing there call Junior...You need to go by the ladder, so you don't come across as going over people's head...If you've called all the ones I mentioned, then call Junior or M. Ingles...Ingles has helped me before, nice guy..But have all your ducks in a row when you call, because him or Junior don't have time for stuttering drivers...Good luck...

The first words of advice I was given when I started was, to get in"ONE" Class, and stay there !!!! Have had no problems what so ever on senority isssues

Had a great time. Key West is always nice especially for alcoholics like me. I enjoyed Cayman islands but they can have Montego Bay. It's probably best to do an excursion there. Go to the waterfalls or something. It's nice to look at but if I go there again, it will be sight seeing from a vehicle. I won't walk the streets. I've had pigeons leave me alone more in a city park eating fries. I did spend $190 somehow just walking the streets buying junk though.
Anyhow, we loved the cruise. We ate enough meals for an army. They had everything from Prime rib, Red snapper to hamburgers and hotdogs. Gained 10 pounds in 7 days. I thought that was good for as much as I ate. The comedians were funny. Dance shows were great. They even had Magicians that did unbelievable tricks. They done some tricks at the dinner table also. Carnival really puts on a show. Of course there were thousands of women looking better than some of those on the hot girly thread. The casino took a few hundred out of my pocket but that's nothing out of the norm for me on a cruise. Lol. I had a couple pix on my phone. One of Jamaica and Cuba at a distance. I'll have more later. I'm still getting settled back to reality.

Oh, and ate snail, gator, duck, and a bunch of other **** I can't think of. Did I mention they had more supermodels than you can shake a stick at? Mercy, women are taller in other countries.

How was it at Sloppy Joes? A vacation post of more than a sentence or two plus pictures, makes me think of an old married couple wearing flower necklaces.

Kinda like the wife and I. LOL.

:biglaugh: I didn't do well on the last few cruises. My wife said she was going to keep a leash on me on this one. I know how well she loves to shop so I told her "money was no object. Take my credit card and live it up" about 5 seconds later she told me to do my thing and she'll call me when she's ready to go back on the boat. Lol. I rented a scooter and I did stop by sloppy Joe's. It was standing room only on a rainy Monday morning (9/24). I peeked inside and saw T and A everywhere. I wanted to stay but it was taking too long to get a brewsky so I settled in across the street at Tony's saloon Key West's Oldest Bar - Capt. Tony's Saloon (said to be Florida's oldest bar). Stopped at some other places also, including Margaritaville. Women seemed to be hornier than a two pkred billy goat. I was carrying conservations as if they knew me all my life. I even got some hugs before I left. I barley made it back to the ship on time. I met my wife at sloppy Joe's and hauled her on the high powered 49cc duel head lighted scooter back to the check in then ran to the ship. I did take a snap shot of sloppy Joe's btw. I tried to keep my phone off on most of the trip to keep the roaming charges to a minimum. Most pics are on my wives camera

Have you ever driven a car from Miami to Key West? Last time I was in Key West I drove all the way from Michigan.(1976)

I rode my motorcycle down there several months ago. I went through the woods to Jacksonville down 95 then to key largo. We thought since we made it that far we may as well go to the end (southernmost point) we came back across highway 41 and did an airboat ride, then up to the casino in Tampa. Then back to the barn. I'm fixing to do it again soon. It will be more enjoyable during the cooler months.
