How often do you see grease on trailer brake drums/shoes/linings?

As a linehaul driver I see this almost daily on pups.
Looks like an obvious DOT violation, but what has your experience been?
Other drivers say they do not look at these components nor is my job.

Yes Mr.DOT officer it’s not my job to check the brakes. Let me know how that works out for you.

Looks like cleaning brakes with a rag and gasoline will be another daily duty of the FXF driver to avoid CSA points.

Nah sharing these pics with your shop and try to be a solution to the problem sounds like a good idea.

Looks over greased on the top one bottom one looks more like a wheel seal leaking or was replaced and shoes never cleaned off

I agree, but sadly, the party responsible for the sloppy work will not likely be the one tasked with correcting it. We probably should start sending pics like this to Fleet Maint.

I wonder how many out of service violations occur for this...
