The biggest reason that comes to mind right off hand is that the NMFA does NOT allow layed off drivers to sit at home while a non union, no dues paying, non teamster, owner operator is given dedicated runs while the International Brotherhood of Teamsters officials sit back and permit such blatant violations to occur.

This may be so, I cannot say as I have not read the NMFA in its entirety. I would also say that blatant violations has occurred to the employees who are currently under the NMFA. What good is a contract that can be down sized by a forced yes vote? I agree with every one's frustration as to the use of contractors. This is something the employee's will have to work on with the 2013 negotiations. I would like to see zero % of contractors used, but this will not happen. The NMFA has seen its better day's and freight employee's will never see this type of contract again in the freight industry. You are now witnessing what once was one of the best contracts in the freight industry being downsized in order to compete in the industry. Wishing that UPSF becomes part of the NMFA is just that, a wish that will never come true.
