Central must be getting desperate, I heard on my local radio station today that they are holding a job fair all week with immediate openings for tractor trailer drivers, and boasting that they are one of the largest LTL carriers in the country and drivers get holiday pay, paid vacation, home daily, and dedicated routes (yeah right) medical and dental insurance ( they forget to mention that no one outside of central has ever heard of the insurance company),and up to a $2000 sign on bonus. must mean all the drivers they bought from Vitran and some of their own have bolted.

a sign on bonus you'll never see either, the best bet is to spew their lies to all the new drivers at the driving schools. take advantage of them and hope they can brainwash them.

They've paid out on all the sign on bonuses promised in our region.

They can find Drivers, beleive it or not there are worse jobs out there, this industry is full of crappy jobs, and new drivers that have no idea what they are getting into.

I'll give you that one, "newbie" drivers definitely have no idea what they are getting into, I used to tell "trainees" (when I was "allowed" to train them) that the only thing we had in common with OTR is we both held a steering wheel, besides that this was a totally different beast. and maybe that's why in my 13 years of LTL I saw over 70 drivers come and go under me (and that was just at Vitran/PJAX) And when I was "forced" into a new job with the buyout( only because I refused to work long term for the Maroon's) I chose to go another direction besides starting out all over in LTL.

they moved all the nice equipment to the front (like u-haul) making you think that's what your driving until they pull the junk from out back. must have used politician tactics to lure people into the central transport blackhole.
