These Junior Safety Dept. Guys , flying around to terminals & renting car's & motels , having 1/2 hour meetings are wasting company money , most have never driven a truck or forklift or worked a dock , but yet talking the talk ?? And plus they are NOT addressing the real safety issue ,which is overworked tried drivers , working guys 13-14 hours a day and 60 plus hours a week , and not expecting injuries ?? Here's a clue lower the working hours and injuries will lower too !!

We had one setup a checkpoint at the truck exit. Looking for important stuff like locks and ID badges. He would then give the kingpin a visual inspection and tell the driver he is ok to go. Well one driver dropped his trailer 25 yards and 30 seconds after this clown gave his approval. The check point was then shutdown and he hasnt been back since.
