That last link really pisses me off! He recieves more money than most of the other Ceo's for running a sinking ship!!! Come on, Iaccoca took 1 a dollar salary until Chyrsler became profitable! Show some freakin leadership Bill, suffer with us or leave........whew...had to vent for a minute.
If you were making money like that, would you leave? If I were Zollars, I would be trying find ways to make even more money too. Here's what I would do. Because, people have to think like the upper-management, in order to know what their next move may or may not be.
First, I would hide the 4th Qtr. Report, as long as I could. Actually, I would wait til March where the restructuring plans takes place to keep people distracted, and combine the numbers from both the 4th Qtr Report of 2010, with the first 1st Qtr Report of 2011. That way it will harder to notice if there's a raise in profit or not. I would also ask the union if they would become the investors of the company, just like Washington DC, using bipartisan to keep both sides of business happy. I would also create another false front that would require employees to give up a little more than what was last agreed upon. Why not, it has worked to perfection the last three times?
I would keep the corporate office in Kansas City, because of the possibility of the future NAFTA Superhighway. Use the current equipment until drivers get fined and forced to leave, due to their driving record/scorecard numbers and equipment violations from the CSA 2010. Hire more people off of the street, which the new employees would make 50% of what people were earning 2 years ago. I would use the extra money that I made off of the US labor/Yes votes, and hide the earnings in offshore accounts. That way it's harder for anyone to trace. Build up my company globally in other areas around of the world. Does the words, "Spread The Wealth" and "Yes We Can" sound familiar?
Then, I would have my current employees worked to death, that way they would be too tired to ask questions, or complain of their current situation. Remember they can always quit, because their going to have a hard time getting the Off Duty Time to have a social life with family/friends. Basically creating a three piece system of total control/mind contol of eating, working, and sleeping only. I would try to get my employees to agree on part time status, that way I wouldn't have to pay their health insurance, as I would have too if they were on layoff or fired.
The technology, well that's simple. The RFID 4G satellite service looks pretty good. There many different options of RFID technology devices to choose from. Hmm, I wonder which device I would recommend for everyone to provide the best quality service for the company? I would hire some IT computer/internet analysis personnel not only to track shipments, but employee locations too on/off duty. Also, to supervise and monitor, making sure that the drivers aren't committed into performing any unsafe driving behaviors that could injure themselves or the innocent bystanders. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about the drivers falsifying their logbook information, anymore.
The next super power country in the supply chain will be China, and most of everything that China will be exporting, will enter into Mexico, as imports. Most freight travels through the lanes between New York, Chicago, and LA. Now I would have to set up a system of cities in the directions of North and South that would able to compete when the NAFTA Super Highways are finished. Because, I know Kansas City, MO will become the Central of Operations like Chicago is currently, some day.
Remember, this is just my opinion.
