I am sure animal control did a rabies test on the coyote. The dog was protecting his owner. Dogs don't recognize size is the reason a small dog will not back down to a large dog.
About 35 years ago, we returned from the vet after getting our Lhasa Apso sewed up from attacking our Lab.
His feet didn't hit the ground before he jumped the Lab again.
If I hadn't got to the Lab, he would have killed him.
This Lhasa hated everyone but my wife, he was the dog from hell and lived to be 17, mean little bastard.
A friend had a Blue Heeler that took up with his wife. That dog wasn't afraid of anything. A neighbor of his had a big Rottweiller that came on his property & came near his wife. The dog bailed out of the pickup bed on the larger dog's head, would not let go till they pulled him off.
did anyone do a rabies test of the owner of the dog?
