Winter weather arrived with a vengeance Sunday night, covering everything in a sheet of ice.

By Monday morning everything had a thick coat of ice on it. Freezing rain coated windshields, sidewalks and roads. The blanket of ice forced drivers to slow down and some school districts to delay classes.

With freezing rain across the area, the slick roads caused numerous accidents across the area.

A twenty-six year woman was killed near Brewster early Monday morning when her car was t-boned by a semi truck. Jessica Marco, Brewster, was pronounced dead at the scene and her four-year old son, Gavin, was transferred to Sioux Falls, South Dakota with non-fatal injuries.
