yeah, he switched to KNC. I saw the post in the drivers lounge. They parked his truck in the front to honor him. Being a new terminal, and I never ran into P&D guys, until now, I did see him once about 2 weeks ago.
Mr. James Monroe Martin, 58 a resident of Trinity passed away Tuesday December 28, 2021 in Thomasville Medical Center. He was born August 31st in Guilford County the son of the late Lonnie Martin, Sr. and Juanita Johnson Marion. He served in the United States National Guard and worked as a truck driver for 26 years with Old Dominion. He was a long-standing police officer with Archdale and Thomasville Police Departments and most recently was a Sgt. with the Thomasville Police Departments Reserves. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved his daughters dearly and spending time with his family and going on cruises. His favorite German Shepard was his dog, Kensi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonnie Martin, Jr. and Anthony “Buddy” Martin. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Grubb and husband Jeffrey of Sophia, NC, and Laura Warren and husband Ronald of Lexington North Carolina; granddaughter, Rylee Ann Warren of Lexington North Carolina; mother of his children, Debbie Dobbins and husband Brian of Trinity; step-daughter, Brittany Dills of Trinity, NC; one sister Linda Gravely of Archdale, NC; one brother Terry Marion of Trinity, NC; two nieces Angela Murphy of Lexington, and Tammy Kennedy of Thomasville, NC. There will be a gathering of friends and a celebration of life Thursday evening, December 30, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm at JC Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, NC. At other times the family will be at the home of Debbie, 4124 Hoover Hill Rd Trinity, NC 27370. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Brenner Children’s Hospital at Medical Center Blvd Winston Salem, NC 27157.
