I know Syracuse and Buffalo N.Y. are opening up this week. I have absolutely no idea about run selection up there. What new centers in the Northeast will have good linehaul runs without starting at the bottom like in a center that is already established? Thanks
They have done this in Charlotte for years. Dock-work on a short run is nothing new to ltl fed ex ups and xpo do it a lot more than SaiaThe Wrentham MA can’t seem to fill its second NWB run. Probably has something to do with telling interviewees that they have to work the dock in NWB at a reduced hourly rate on a 400+ mile bid.

In order to drop off freight, some runs are planned for mid route stops. During the week the terminal crew works the drop off but , on weekends and holidays, the driver has to do it. Then comes the headache of getting through to Central. What is the hourly rate for linehaul? It's something like $29 an hour.I get that, I was always under the impression that Saia didn't put their linehaul drivers on forklifts, that's all.
Is the city work there really that bad? I was considering giving it a shot but the reviews aren't looking too good.Any linehaul run, not system, is better than working the city. If you can, grab one and start building your run senority. I know we, me, bitch a lot about the camera issue but high compensation, a five day work week, off on holidays, good bennies, and good 401-k, brother, that's hard to find these days.
The city guys are making close to $30 an hour, they work during the day like normal people, and they have the same five day work week, off on holidays, good bennies, and good 401-k. Plus, if they would like to, probably have an opportunity to make a linehaul weekend run for extra cash. It's probably not bad just different. Is the city work there really that bad? Camera issues aside, it ain’t bad if ya get one far enough from the barn.Any linehaul run, not system, is better than working the city. If you can, grab one and start building your run senority. Anything under 200 one-way is dock work. But not at a reduced rate. Sorry, FXF.They have done this in Charlotte for years. Dock-work on a short run is nothing new to ltl fed ex ups and xpo do it a lot more than Saia

I heard Saia is moving into old Nemf terminals in North reading MA, Concord NH, and Scarborough ME.
Anyone else hearing the same?
