True... Now this, from our left coast loon farm:

California Scraps Safety Driver Rules for Self-Driving Cars

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/26/...lights&contentPlacement=7&pgtype=sectionfront

"The state’s Department of Motor Vehicles said Monday that it was eliminating a requirement for autonomous vehicles to have a person in the driver’s seat to take over in the event of an emergency. The new rule goes into effect on April 2.

California has given 50 companies a license to test self-driving vehicles in the state. The new rules also require companies to be able to operate the vehicle remotely — a bit like a flying military drone — and communicate with law enforcement and other drivers when something goes wrong."

"When" something goes wrong? What could possibly go wrong???

FedEx, UPS Trade Barbs Over NRA Ties After Florida Shooting

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...rbs-over-nra-ties-in-wake-of-florida-shooting

"FedEx Corp. on Tuesday trumpeted that the gun-rights group uses United Parcel Service Inc. for shipments from the online NRA store. “And not FedEx,” the company said by email, underlining the last two words of the sentence.

UPS responded quickly. Yes, it has a shipping deal with the NRA, it said. But it doesn’t offer special services for the group’s members. FedEx does, and that company said Monday that it would maintain its discounts for businesses and consumers who belong to the NRA."

Just asking? How does a police officer get a driverless car to pull over in the event of a traffic stop?

and the single biggest problem we still have, is getting so called professional drivers to act like mature professional's. I've heard pretty much every excuse I could ever imagine for why drivers need to be stupid. Grow up folks. Drive like a grandma, and enjoy the scenery.

If everyone shared the road like they're supposed to, it'd be less of a problem.

And not everyone is paid by the hour like you are. I'd very much like to be.

If people just practiced the lost art of common courtesy. Slower traffic keep right (a law that is "never" enforced. Use turn signals. Pass in the hammer lane instead of the right lane (you chicken :shit: four wheeler). Etc, etc.

Actually, it was a genuine monster of a storm. What's on the ground in the photo is not representative of how bad it was. You remember a few years back when Buffalo was under 8 feet of snow? It was kinda like that.

As long as the cars don't say "I'll be back", we're ok. Unless, of course, they mutter something from Maximum Overdrive. Only thing that movie was good for was a AC/DC resurgence.
