  1. There will be more flexibility for the 30-minute break rule, which requires a break after eight hours of consecutive driving time. Drivers will now be allowed to satisfy the 30-minute break requirement during on-duty status while not driving. The previous rule required this break during off-duty status.
  2. Modifications to the sleeper-berth exception now allow drivers to split their required 10 hours of off-duty time into two periods, so long as one of the periods is at least seven hours and the other is at least three hours. This can be an 8/2 split or a 7/3 split — and neither period would count against the driver’s 14‑hour driving window.
  3. The adverse driving conditions exception has been extended by two hours for drivers who encounter unexpected road delays.
  4. The short-haul exception for drivers who start and begin their work at the same location is expanding from 12 to 14 hours and the distance these short-haul drivers can travel is widening from a 100-mile radius to 150 air miles.

Is there any language pertaining to drivers stuck with trucks that are governed at 65 mph??? And can’t get home 30 minutes early?

It took 5 months to decide this? And the driver got the crap beat out of him, they stole his wallet, and cell phone.

As far as politics goes I just want to be left alone, so please don't mistake this post for anything pro or anti this or that. I'm just genuinely intrigued by how something like this happened, especially given that FDX was very likely the carrier:

Very strange.

The rest of its less-than-truckload brands, including Holland, New Penn, Reddaway and YRC Freight, as well as its HNRY Logistics division, will continue operating under their current names."

FedEx concerned all of it’s freight division went Ground!
Spokesperson, Blaff Jean Claude Cousteau says they haven’t seen any posts from drivers on TB in 2 days, and concerned they all went Ground to drive faster trucks. It was not immediately clear if SwampRatt was amongst those drivers.
