I will be starting in GBO next week as p&d driver. My question is if I have to work the dock do they get paid a different pay scale. I have a friend thats been there a couple of years and claims he never works dock but since im on the bottom should I expect dock work at much less pay?

No, you should be on p/d pay. You might be required to clock in and out for a change in status but it should not change your rate----Good luck to you

When freight slows down you may work the dock 1 or 2 days in a week,just make sure u punch the clock for dock work ,and yes u will get paid P&D rate.

If you are a combo, you want get the P&D pay if you clock on the dock.

I guess I need to find out which class I am. Which is better p&d or combo.

Lets hope p and d. The combo dock pay is terribly low to start off.

Combo is a different classification. You'd probably know if that's what you hired on as. Combo drivers run P&D, linehaul, work the dock, drive the mule... Just whatever the terminal needs that day.

Guy's Combo don't get P&D pay when they are working dock. I have the pay check stubs to prove that.

Combo drivers are pretty much 100% linehaul at many barns. I never worked the dock when I was combo. Some terminals are different however. The time clock has a button for each category. Get paid for the job you do
