    Richard J. "Bear" Silhanek

    Piscataway - Richard J. "Bear" Silhanek, 56, died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at home. Born in Hackensack, Bear resided in Piscataway.

    He was a truck driver for 25 years working for several trucking companies through out his driving career. His last employer was New Penn Trucking in Trenton.

    Rich was a member of the Merchandise Drivers Local #641 based in Union and was a member of the Piscataway Elks Lodge # 2414.

    Bear was an enthusiastic NY JETS fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. He also followed the NY Yankees and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. In addition, Bear enjoyed playing golf, softball and sharing laughs with his friends.

    He is predeceased by his parents Arthur & Adelaide Silhanek.

    Survivng is his brother Edward and his wife Diane Silhanek of South Plainfield and his sister Patricia Cernak and her husband Joseph of Winter Garden, FL. Also surviving is his niece Jennifer Silhanek and many friends.

    Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 1-5 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 with a prayer service to begin at 3:30 PM.

    Cremation services will follow privately.
