Stan, neither do i...in fact, our Public Works Dept, has a crew (or staff) of "Garbage Cops"...that's right, they have these people drive around the various trash pick up days. then they literally open up the garbage cans and recycling cans, and if they see anything in either that does not belong there, you get a ticket for $50 on your first offense..

then too, from my personal experiences, when i buy many things, especially home items, like wood, tiles, etc, i DO NOT buy the recycled stuff, as it is ALWAYS higher priced then a brand new item....

yeah, i hate that fake taste of them...

aren't cigs now made without the chemical that kept them burning, if left unattended..??

i think so, as i had a pack a few months ago, put down one that i was smoking, and it went out.

now, my truck does not have an ash tray...neither does my car.

so tossing out the window is way more convenient then stomping on it on the floor of my truck.

and finally, NO ONE is careless in throwing a cig out the window..

many times, that takes some "scoping of the area", to make sure no one is watching, then you have to carefully throw it out the window, so that it does not fly back into the vehicle and start a fire there...!!!

same holds true when i dump my coffee cup out the window, i make sure that i am not any where's near the areas that the troopers hide out, then i open up the window, and let the air take away my cup, and other trash...like my hot dog box.

after all, we are doing the states a HUGE favor when we litter...

we are putting the prison "chain gangs" to work.!!!

he's gonna be a state trooper..??

    erase everything i just said.>!!!!

I dont smoke so no matter to me.
When I rode a motorcycle, HATED a cig of cigar but tossed out the window at me.
What is cheaper 1500 dollars or the medical bill when a Pagan kicks the crap out of you for burning him?

    Don't smoke, don't know.

Doesn't matter because it will still take a bit before the cherry goes out. By then the grass or whatever along the road is burning, and then the damage is done.

It has a cupholder, doesn't it?

Do like the snoose chewers do, keep an empty pop bottle handy with some water in it, drop the butts in there. A lot easier and much less risk of getting busted by Office Friendly or burning down the forest.

So throwing burning stuff out the window of a moving vehicle and burning up the landscape is a carefully planned activity?

yes indeedy, if one is very careful in discarding it all....

after all, in some areas, a "planned burn" is something that takes place, so why not "plan" on helping out..???...:LMAO:

Next will be spitting out a vehicle window as a driver or passenger and will include a extra fine/criminal offense for sneezing or coughing.

This country is too anal about insignificance.

I'll CONTINUE to toss my (usually extinguished) cigarette butts out a window of a moving vehicle ESPECIALLY when it's RAINING, okay....good.

Concerning the NATIONAL incompetence of ALL drivers:
Remember: IT'S EITHER SLOW DOWN OR MOVE OVER, not SLOW DOWN in the HAMMER LANE or AT ALL if the Flashing Lights of a EMERGENCY VEHICLE ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD, on a off ramp or bridge, okay....good.

I believe in individual rights. If you want to smoke that is your business. Many fires are started in this state from cigarettes being thrown out of windows of vehicles. Fighting these fires is very costly & takes funds from volunteer fire departments. Houses have been burned & crops destroyed by carelessness of smokers. I don't see how anybody can say it is a right to throw cigarettes out & start fires. If anybody wants to throw butts on the ground they can do it on their property.

    My sentiments exactly.

When I was building my house and the siding crew showed up suddenly there were thousands of butts everywhere. The 3 guys on the siding crew smoked like fiends, each one always had a butt in his mouth. Up until that point it was a non-issue, as the contractor and the framing guys didn't smoke. In fact the siding crew were the only smokers out of all the trades who worked on the house.

I asked the contractor to tell the siding guys that if they insisted on smoking they would have to take their butts with them, that I would not tolerate the butts everywhere. He did, and they did and for a couple days everything was cool.

I almost filled a 5 gallon bucket with butts, and the chimneys had only been tossing butts for a couple days. That's a lot of smoking.

Then the HVAC guys showed up and one of then was chewing. Spitting everywhere, even inside the house on the subfloor. I went to the contractor again and was telling him that if the guy wanted to chew it was OK by me, so long as he swallowed and didn't spit all over the house. Before the contractor could go talk to the guy the electrician walked up and announced that he had taken care of the snoose spitting guy. Seems that the electrician would go around at the end of the day and pick up the wire scraps to recycle, and didn't want to deal with tobacco spit.

Like some areas of Ill Noise (cough, cough, the Windy) are so clean that a few million more cigarette butts are going to harm the views.

Wondering how many tickets have been handed out?!
Wondering how many tickets have been paid.

    Good Luck.

As I buy my six pack of beer, I often wonder why people smoke cigarettes.

    Rant ON

I possess varied recollections demonstrating A FEW TIMES in 20 years of why I blundered along with John Barleycorn.
I vaguely recall WHY I started smoking cigarettes other than the "cool" appeal of the 50's, 60's and 70's.

I'm slowly progressing to e-cigs as i'm rather tired of the smoker's STENCH.
Alcohol was easier to quit as it simply, with all of the fancy names and sales structures, smells like Vomit and JAIL.

Rant OFF....back to the program....end of line

They feel the need to do something with the other hand, and nose picking is not socially acceptable.
