ABF | Some freight Locals have delegate nomination mtgs in 2015, need reformers to run

Are you from any of these Local Unions with freight members?

26, 231, 305, 340, 493, 628, 760, 764, 773, 839, 890, 912, 948.

These are freight Locals that as of now have announced that the date for their Teamsters convention delegate nomination meeting will be this year. Most of the Locals union-wide will have their nomination meetings during the first three months of 2016. But the list above is more urgent because the meetings are sooner.

If you're from one of the above Locals, now would be the time to contact Teamsters United at [email protected] or 718-693-0400 and tell them you would be interested in running for delegate or alternate at your Local.

The reform camp ALWAYS needs as many reform-supporting members to run for delegate as possible. If the slate doesn't get enough delegates, then there will not be any general election in October of next year. Besides, if you get elected, wouldn't you like an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas during the last week in June of 2016? Plus you would get paid 40 hours of wages.

Local #30 will have their Delegate's election around December, I think. As one of our officers is running on the Sylvester slate, we will be sending a number of firebrands to Las Vegas. Depending on who gets elected, we have a good group of guys here, and it won't matter which ones get chosen as delegates. They're ALL angry.......Tired of sellout contracts and lackadasical ...."leadership".....Time to Clean House and get back to Unionism that benefits the members, instead of Crony Unionism,....all Blowhard talk and no substance,.....Check with the Employers first before you check with your dues-paying MEMBERS......For the last several weeks, my telephone has been abused by Mr. Hoffa , telling me how bad the TTP trade deal is, and that it's :"Time to bring American jobs home.",.........Yet,.....one of the larger employers, ABF,...has contractual language providing that any mandatory uniform policy should be provided by a Union vendor, and have American-made uniforms...."if possible"....Look at the tags of your new company shirts, pants, hats, and jackets.......Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and China,...........And when we filed the grievance about that....(to be heard at the ERJAC panel in Myrtle Beach by the end of July, by the way...)....the company said there wasn't any "American" manufacturers around.......which is hilarious, because I went out to my car, and brought in an entire wardrobe of Union-made apparel,.....Hats, shirts, jackets,...all proudly made in America by Union labor,....and marked as such.......and left the Company representative speechless.....if speechless means opening and closing your mouth like a hooked bass, with nothing coming out.......Mr. Hoffa makes a grandstand play to stand up for American worker's rights,........and in practice, allows employers to use the cheapest, most anti-American, child-labor, human-rights abusers out there,......most of whom are on the Pacific Rim,......which is what comprises the member nations of the TTP agreement.........Is it blindness?...Selective, unabashed blindness?....Arrogance?...in that he's confident I'll call my Congressman to complain about the TTP agreement,....while I'm wearing a uniform made by child labor from Guatemala?.......Because he said so?........Incompetence?.....Does he not know what one of his larger employers are shoving.....literally......onto the backs of their employees?.....merely to turn them into walking billboards for ABF's own enrichment? Mr. Johnson and Mr. Sweeton signed off on ABF's uniform policy,......anyone bother to tell them that their boss was going on a national campaign AGAINST foreign goods foisted off on American workers?......I guess our ...."leaders"....at the top are comfortable wearing foreign goods.....Armani suits,...French silk shirts.......Italian handmade shoes,.....They see no reason why we are complaining about wearing Foreign-made goods,.....I guess...Clean House!...Hoffa Must Go 2016!
