I can not believe saia has requested TM's to work nights to find out why the trucks are getting out late THE NEXT DAY. Its not jet propulsion or rocket science. The linehaul drivers are held up EVERY night at the break terminal. GNC has 3 drivers going to Charlotte every night. The first driver does not return to GNC until 6:00am. Then they stagger in at 7:00am til 10:00am. This freight has to to be broke and loaded. Then the city driver has to get dispatched AFTER freight is loaded and the manifest is stripped. There is a LARGE COMMUNICATION problem. They should be at least 2 linehaul leaving Clt around 8:00 or 10:00pm. But you have to have dock workers at GNC to break and load the freight. By the time they get these done, the other drivers would be returning to GNC. That means someone will have to get up early to break freight.
 
linehaul get out of breakbulk late you are dreaming:hysterical: i always thought it was funny how the sattelite terminals get their a$$ chewed for having missed cuts but the break bulks do it all night and dont get in trouble. if the number crunching managers would bring in the city drivers and dock crew a little earlier and central would let us move freight instead of moving empty trailers everywhere they might save some time but oh no they cant listen to the driver the tm has to come in and investigate
 
By the by, when our TM transferred in from LAX, he spent the first few weeks of his term on nites getting a handle on the outbound operation. Just remember, that stuff ain't necessarily voluntary. Sometimes, a better picture of the problems is obtained from being there.

Besides, all this is done behind the background of making everything fit to the numbers. Remember our freight god, Daddy Rick, dictates it is all about the numbers.:butt kiss:
