ABF | transfers in central region

at our dock meeting at 064, we were told we could put in a request for a transfer into another terminal within the central region. here is the goofy part, if we turn in our request, and say want to transfer to washington court house, and fart schmitt calls, and says " hey buttbreath, we got a transfer opportunity to cleveland, or madison wisconsin!!!" of course you say "f%$k that!!", they say ok, you will not have transfer rights again for six months!!! i think its good to have transfer rights, but give the employees the right to go where they want too... by the way, when u do transfer u only keep your company senority, so dont get your pannys in a bunch fellas!!!!!:smilie_132:

they are not closing the terminal, some people on the dock actually live alot closer to other terminals, like 232, 067, and 370. for some, it would be nice to get closer to home...

i do understand that line of thinking, but family obligations for people that are considering that outweigh the senority factor.

Trubigtymer - As you probably know,this is all covered in Art 5.5 of the NMFA that was improved to cover CDL qualified local cartage members instead of just road drivers. You also should consider that if you are given a choice that you reject, you can resubmit another request immediately under the following partial language quote "The Employer shall be required to make additional offers of transfer relocation to an employee who has previously rejected a transfer relocation opportunity provided the employee again notifies the Employer in writing of his/her continued interest in additional transfer relocation opportunities. However, the Employer will only be required to make one transfer relocation offer in any six (6) calendar month period." Good luck:smilie_132:
