Law enforcement agencies in nine states will team up on Tuesday for a single day speed blitz.

The enforcement effort will take place March 14 on U.S. Highway 20 in New York, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

The purpose of the speed blitz is to reduce crashes along non-interstate highways.

“Drivers can expect to see increased patrols by State Police and local law enforcement agencies during the morning and evening drive times. Troopers will be using both marked State Police vehicles and Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement (CITE) vehicles as part of this crackdown in order to more easily identify motorists who are violating the law. CITE vehicles allow the Trooper to better observe driving violations. These vehicles blend in with everyday traffic but are unmistakable as emergency vehicles once the emergency lighting is activated” the New York State Police said in a news release.

“Speeding contributes to over one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities across the nation,” said New York State Police Acting Superintendent Steven A. Nigrelli. “Keeping our roadways safe for all is one of our top priorities, and partnering with law enforcement agencies across the county to support initiatives like this are vital to raising awareness about the dangers of speeding and reckless driving. It reminds motorists to be mindful of the speed limit, be alert and aware of their surroundings, and to slow down.”

U.S. Highway 20 spans 3,365 miles coast to coast.

Had a blacked out what looked like a muscle car Camaro pull up on me one day on my bike couple years back , it stayed behind me then came up on my side with the window down and it was a Trooper who wagged his finger at me and speed off. I'm thinking he ran me but had another call since I seen the lights go on about 1/2 mile in front of me and gone. I was doing 15 over in a 70 zone , got lucky...

It was a point and the eye thing "I'm watching you Pal"
I just got on and hammered it up the ramp so it was loud
so I'm pretty sure that's what probably caught his ear .
