A semi truck driver was arrested and his truck was placed out of service in New Hampshire on Tuesday following a couple of crashes and a couple of attempts to flee from law enforcement.
New Hampshire State Police (NHSP) responded to a business on Maple Street in Hopkinton at 11:15 p.m. on March 7 after receiving a request for assistance from the Hopkinton Police Department (HPD).
HPD called for help from NHSP’s Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit following a semi truck crash that occurred at the business.
From a NHSP news release:
“Upon learning that Troop G was responding to conduct an inspection, the operator of the tractor-trailer unit, owned and operated by Franklin Trucking, LLC of Windsor, Connecticut:
Jermayne Eubanks, age 42, of Tolland, CT
attempted to drive off, striking a cement pole and an exit gate, causing a second crash. The second crash resulted in significant property damage and caused the front axle of the trailer to become disconnected.“
Troopers said Eubanks then fled the scene on foot.
Eubanks was apprehended by HPD officers and arrested for Reckless Driving, Reckless Conduct, and Conduct After an Accident.
Additionally, “several motor carrier violations were observed, resulting in the vehicle being placed out of service,” NHSP said.

“Driver inattention is believed to be a factor in the crash. State Police is requesting that anyone who may have information, or witnessed the crash, contact the Hopkinton Police Department at (603) 746-5151.“
