Will shop guys and drivers all be in on the same contract?

That's cause they're all scared, don't have any stones.
Plus, I'm not sure the IBT is interested.
Dont know ups freight seems prety happy on the road side then again should they get bumped they can go city side with their senority what a *****I would not claim 'ever'. If Obama gets re-elected and Obamacare does actually get implented you will see a plathera of LTL's go union, two reasons; 1. cardcheck will quickly become law of land within 2 years. 2. Obamacare will hasten nearly all LTL's to off-load the linehaul side of the company's and go with 'independent contractor's and O/O's to move loads now being done by company drivers. The LTL's may be willing to work with a union for the P&D side, but most will never let the linehaul side go union. IMHO

Not to cause waves Lazer, but I'm wondering with no o/o's now where would Fedex or anyone else for that matter find guy's to do this??? These contractors and o/o's are trying to get 3000 miles A week, how in the world would they all get that many miles with the ltl's?I would not claim 'ever'. I know everyone likes to get that 3000 per week, but if the industry turns they way I think it could, they won't have a choice. I have a sinking feeling many(not all) companies will go the route that Towne Air Freight took a few years back. Your co-worker today, may very well be your boss 3-4 years from now after you turn down an offer from your company to purchase a couple tractors and be on your own. That weasel below you on the board now will bite at the chance to make it big. If you want to keep driving, you will sign on with him(or her) because you current job is eliminated. Make no mistake, I'm not wishing this happens, just don't be shocked if it does.
Lately RC isn't so sure that only union companies have cornered the market on bad management.
