Your opinion is really out of touch. Its quite amusing how someone like your self with just a standard education thinks he understands the strategy of the worlds largest transportation company. We know you are just trying to get people going here, but, I am not that easy, You see, know matter what happens in the freight industry, I will soon collect my 30 year pension with the company. You really think that UPS will give up competing with its largest competitor? How did FedEx National get into the freight business only having package experience? I am still trying to figure out who you really work for?? and why you are so afraid of UPSF??? Now, try again and think!!
Just getting what they payed for and making money. We don't haul for free like you do.
I am not so sure this poster (Rat) even works for FedEx Freight. He sounds like an ex Overnite manager that could not adjust.
To begin with you have no idea what my education is so it rather over the top to insinuate you do.
Secondly I don't work for FedEx...my observations are my own opinion of what I have seen over the years regarding the equipment UPS Freight has on the road.
We are not hauling for free any more than UPS Freight...what make you think we are?...what makes you so afraid of Con-Way?....
I have no fear of UPS Freight....never have...just wondered why UPS Freight dropped the ball on updating and rebranding their equipment.
It just doesn't add up to the 'UPS' genre that I am so familiar with.
In the package they basically tell those peeps what color socks they can wear...doesn't seem to be that way in freight...so this begs the question...'why'?....why is freight any different in their requirements than package?...
Something is amiss in all this and I am curious...
UPS may have done their homework financially, but missed the boat operationally and historically in their purchase of Overnite. They bought a troubled company...that is a given. UP did all they could do to beat the stuffins' out of the folks at Overnite before selling them to UPS.
What UPS has done with it may be admirable but the question remains...'why the difference?'
