Frog City Truck Stop Rayne LA. I-10 x 89. Darn good Cajun food, nice waitresses, could use some help in the scenery department tho...
Your coming back to line haul just in time for winter! Come out west and have some fun with us, we need the help. Don't worry we will show you how to chain!
I pack my lunch as well. It's usually gone 10 minutes after I start my day. I have a certain shade tree that I'd go to when I peddled the same city everyday. Open the windows and get a nice breeze, I may or may not been known to dose off.
The Southside Diner at exit 243 off I-81 in Harrisonburg, VA is a decent place to stop in for a quick meal. One of the guys I rode with during training was fond of their burgers so I gave it a shot. There seems to be plenty of parking but every time I've pulled in for my break, all of the fuel lanes were empty so I've parked in the outermost lane and haven't had an issue with getting in anyones way. I check my 5th wheels and air lines every time I leave sight of my set anyway but I seem to have the desire to check them even more so at places like that just in case a pseudo-billy-bad-ass-super-trucker decides to play parking lot police and teach me a lesson for parking in a completely empty area.
I've been a fan of Sheetz and WaWa for many years now from my previous job. If it wasn't for them, there would have been many nights where I would have went hungry when I got to a hotel. There's that one Sheetz truck stop somewhere around exit 271 on I-81 in VA and there a couple more on the eastern side of PA between Pittsburgh and the State College area for when you want to stop in during the day time.
