Yellow | Worth reading.

Not everyone there felt they were getting "screwed". Everyone got what was agreed to.
PS - Did you work there?
No i didn't work for them. Just from reading comments on here and trucking articles on them. Sounds like some of the workers were willing to give in and help them again and the Union boss and them had a pissing contest and the workers lost in the end from both parties acting like children.

The damages are for terminals YRC/Yellow was leasing from Estes, probably previously owned and sold by YRC and the damages are for upkeep Yellow was suppose to do but never did per the lease agreement.
This is also just a clever move by Estes to make the terminals more expensive for another carrier to buy the lease. Think about it like this, a lease sells for $1m, then the purchaser has to cure the months of unpaid rent (tens of thousands?), plus $500k in repairs. Suddenly buying the lease cost 1.5m-$1.7m or more where Estes can buy the lease back for $1m and write off the unpaid rent and repair costs. PLUS Estes has owned these properties for 14 years now and they’ve paid for themselves many times over.

Of course all those numbers are made up and pulled straight from my butt, but you get what I’m saying.

Possible, but you still expect your tenants to take care of what they are renting. Every place that rents anything have more than paid for the what ever but you are still suppose to maintain it in decent condition if you are the renter. Ive seen a few of the Yellow terminals and they are not in good condition.

We , New Penn, leased our terminal from Pyle starting I believe in 2010-2011. From them until our demise, Pyle would show up unannounced and perform a walk thru. Several times, Pyle & New Penn were in court. Pyle asking a judge to terminate the lease for petty violations, New Penn countering & proving nothing they did was wrong. Estes ever do this ? Highly doubtful
Pyle did win an court arbitration for Maspeth, NP had to fix the electrical issues to get a renewed CO from NYC. Pyle did not get the lease cancelled as they wanted but got the lease shortened as part of the arbitration to end early 2027. They had it posted as it was an open public document back then,

Ok. I think I remember that because contractors showed up and started fixing ::shit::. All I was trying to point out was Estes probably did none of this and now are crying wolf over conditions at these terminals. Oh well, have fun paying lawyers to settle this. Ain't my money🤷🏽‍♂️

They should at least look into it. Sounds almost like they getting help from everybody by cutting bennies and not maintaining anything getting a loan from the govt then pocketing the money for a certain few with what appears no intentions to really try at all to keep it open. Could be wrong but that's just an outsiders observation.
Ha 🤣! That would insinuate they knew what they were doing. That's hilarious 😂

Pretty good article on the disgraceful conditions at several terminals. Reasonable maintenance was nearly nonexistent at some of the terminals. And Estes is balking at footing the repair bills.

The details on Tank Transport's article came out in the first week of November - well before both of Yellow's first two property auction sales in late Nov and mid Dec. Notice how, without blinking an eye, Estes has since purchased a combined 29 properties for a total of $284M. They are VERY aware of just how valuable the real estate locations are, regardless of deferred maintenance and other site issues - and it clearly didn't stop a thing! Be careful of your source.

*The other TT website (Transport Topics), is the only TT link that you should bother reading. The former released a "new" article, with information that was 7 weeks old - laughable and of questionable intent.

It’s sad that the article didn’t mention any about the worn out workers, or any other article.
The "worn out" workers were not forced to stay in their jobs/careers at the company...nor do they live in a dictator-ruled, socialist society like North Korea. Everyone has their own problems & difficulties - what matters are the choices you make and (positive) actions you take to improve the situation.

TC1, the clown symbol (that you so often reply with) doesn't have any impact on the above facts though - does it? Keep the biased posturing at bay.

Ha! Your SWAG isn't fact, only a guess and you've made some dumb ones. You didn't like the article because it affects your bottom line. I think the clown symbols fits in your case. Besides, living in your head is rent free is so fun.

Merry Christmas 🎅

Happy Holidays, pal! ☃️ Make sure to come back and say "hi" when Yellow Corp's stock is well into the double digits next year. Fireworks are imminent... 🎇

Hey Sportsterfan, another "clown" smiley face from you, even on Christmas Day? You're consistent anyway. Have a Merry Christmas regardless! 🌲 :smile new:

Estes deserves nothing.
They should have saw it coming over a decade ago.
They should expect and get nothing.
That's what the Yellow employees are told.
Good for the goose.
Good for the gander.
Lenders and lawyers get money first.
None left for Estes after that.

I'm sure Apollo will lend them money if they need it.
They put “high cure” cost on those properties to deter any other companies to bid on “their owned” properties…..

Don't speak up and protect Yellow. They screwed everybody that dealt with them apparently. Looks almost like this was done on purpose for years. Neglecting upkeep getting their workers to give back bennies and etc. Looks like a calculated slow closing at the expense of workers , customers , and who ever else they could screw. They say the higher ups got huge bonuses? If this is true it almost looks
