04 is a different era, they would have had to have been like 01 models but that is possible and there could be some still in use there with green interiors under those circumstances. The only time ABF ended up with leased equipment was when they bought Carolina Carriers in 1995 and they inherited those white tractors, I can't remember what make they were.

The Carolina tractors were International. They were financed by several banks. GE Capital started financing the 95's which were new in fact several were not even in service when ABF did the buyout. GE managed to get other groups to share in the financing when they got cold feet. ABF paid off all of the banks & sold then in 99. 200 or so of them were bought by Roadway. Roadway also bought Macks & Volvos from ABF. The Volvos had Series 60 power & were good tractors. ABF kept several of the 2000 year model Volvos for city service & is just now selling the last few.
It takes 3 or 4 years to write off depreciation on new equipment but a company can write off a lot more the first year on used equipment.
